Sales in Milano

From July 6th enjoy shopping in the fashion neighbourhoods

Milan is one of the world's most important cities for fashion and shopping.
The summer sales are one of the best opportunities to visit it.

The discount shopping period, which alternates between the winter and summer seasons, runs this year from 6 July to 3 September.
The dates vary from region to region each year.

Arriving right in the centre, the Quadrilatero della Moda and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II await you for the most exclusive shopping.

The shopping streets are full of offers: in designer shops such as La Rinascente you will find bargains not to be missed for trendy clothes and accessories, but also timeless classics, cosmetics, make-up and designer pieces for your home.

Take advantage of the shopping starting from the Duomo along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II to get to Piazza San Babila, which has just reopened after the works for the inauguration of the M4 metro line leading to Linate airport. A new, large pedestrian square surrounded by big name and international flagship shops.

Other areas worth visiting, accessible by the M1 - Red Line, are Corso Buenos Aires (Porta Venezia or Lima stops) and Corso Vercelli (Conciliazione stop).

There is also a lot to see along Via Torino, but the Brera, Isola and Navigli neighbourhoods, with their shopping experiences more related to small shops, handicrafts and vintage, also offer very interesting opportunities.

Some practical tips to make the most of sales time:

- Make a list. Understanding what is missing in your wardrobe and in your home is a good starting point.
- Don't lose heart if you don't immediately find what you need: sometimes you have to look hard to find the perfect occasion.
- Shopping, but in company. Wandering around the shops with friends is more fun, and they can give you tips in case of indecision.
- If you are from outside the EU, keep an eye out for shop signs about tax-free shopping and ask the shopkeeper. You have the chance to save money with a partial refund.

Don't forget to wear a comfortable pair of shoes and recharge your batteries with an aperitif or ice cream.
