The traditional Christmas appointment with the art of Palazzo Marino returns in Sala Alessi with a new masterpiece, the Adoration of the Magi by Perugino (Città di Pieve, circa 1450 - Fontignano, 1523).
The work, loaned by the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria (National Gallery of Umbria), was created by the artist around 1473 for the church of Santa Maria dei Servi in Perugia. It represents the artist's first significant commitment to Perugia and constitutes one of the most emblematic works to understand the developments of Italian art in the last quarter of the fifteenth century.
The Adoration of the Magi of Perugino can be admired in Sala Alessi, as always with free admission, from 1 December 2018 to 13 January 2019.
