Parking
Mudec has a large garage toll parking (179 parking spaces) on two floors (-1 and -2) served by a lift (door width: 90 cm, cabin 150x135 cm); 8 parking spaces are reserved for disabled parking permit holders. It is also possible to park in the immediate vicinity, along Via Tortona, on the blue lines.

Information for visitors
Access to the permanent collection is free for all visitors. For temporary collections, disabled visitors can ask for a reduced ticket and a free ticket for their companion.
2 wheelchairs are available for visitors at Mudec and 1 wheelchair is available at Mudec Photo. Audio guides are available.

 

Entrance
The main entrance has a threshold (3 cm) and two consecutive, double leaf doors (door width: 105 cm each one).

 

Reception
In the hall there are:

  • the Info point (counter height 121 cm),
  • the ticket office (counter height 121 cm),
  • the cloakroom (counter height 93 cm).

 

At the Design Store you can buy accessories, household and decor items, books. It has the following characteristics:

  • o double leaf door (232 cm wide each)
  • o counter height: 96 cm.

On the first floor there is a bookshop (counter height 100 cm).
The museum staff is at your disposal for information and tourist reception services.

 

Lifts
In front of the ticket office there are two lifts with the same features, linking the ground floor, the first, the second and the third floor (restaurant).
The two lifts have the following features:

  • door width: 90 cm, cabin 150x133 cm,
  • raised control panel at a height of 113 cm,
  • acoustic signal of arrival on the floor,
  • emergency bell at a height of 113 cm.

 

Exhibition itinerary
The museum is the result of refurbishing of the ‘Ansaldo' industrial area. It develops on three floors.
On the ground floor, dedicated to the reception, there are: a bistrot, the ‘Forum delle Culture' conference hall, a multi-functional space, a classroom and a restoration workshop.

On the first floor, around a large central roofed piazza, there is the exhibition area of the museum, hosting the section with the permanent collection and the rooms (with double leaf doors: width 200 cm) dedicated to temporary exhibitions.
The exhibition space is completed by an auditorium with 300 places (double leaf door - 224 cm wide each).

 

Restrooms
There are two accessible restrooms reserved to people with disabilities. The first one is on the ground floor and it has the following features:

  • hinged door (83 cm wide),
  • suspended washbasin (clear space in front: 80 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (clear floor area: in front: 107 cm, on the right side: 121 cm; on the left side 22 cm, grab handles on both sides, a WC shower on the left of the toilet).

The other restroom is on the second floor and it has the following features:

  • sliding door (87 cm wide),
  • suspended washbasin (clear space in front: 85 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (clear floor area: in front: 142 cm, on the right side: 32 cm, on the left side: 115 cm, grab handles on both sides, WC shower on the right of the toilet).

 

Cafeteria
The “Bistrot Mudec” is on the ground floor, on the left of the main entrance. It has a large room (100 guests), furnished with squared tables with a central leg (clear space underneath: 67 cm). Menus for people with coeliac disease, vegetarians and vegans are available.

 

Restaurant
The “Mudec Restaurant” is on the third floor. It has a dining room for 40 guests, furnished with squared tables with a central leg (clear space underneath: 71 cm). Menus for people with coeliac disease, vegetarians and vegans are available.

 

Emergency exit
Emergency routes are well indicated. The alarm device is visual and acoustic.

 

MUDEC Photo
Photo exhibitions are set up in the Mudec Photo area. To reach the exhibition area you must overcome 7 steps (20 cm and 14 cm high each) and a double leaf door (180 cm wide each). Visitors with motor disabilities can use a lift with the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm; cabin 90x132 cm.

 

Reception

In the entrance hall there is:

  • the ticket office - infopoint (counter height: 122 cm – 82 cm).

 

Exhibition Itinerary

The exhibition itinerary develops on a single floor and is completely accessible.

 

Restrooms
There are two restrooms.

The restroom equipped for disabled people is on the right of the ticket office and has the following characteristics:

  • hinged door (width: 90 cm)
  • suspended washbasin (80 cm)
  • floor standing toilet (clear floor area: in front: 130 cm; on the right side: 30 cm; grab handle on the left side).

The other restroom is opposite the exhibition room and has the following characteristics:

  • dressing room with hinged door (82 cm wide); 2 suspended washbasin (79 cm high)
  • toilet with hinged door (75 cm wide)
  • suspended washbasin (80 cm high)
  • floor standing toilet (clear floor space: in front 103 cm; on the right side: 40 cm; on the left side: 26 cm.
