Parking
Cars can be parked on the blue lines in Corso Magenta. There are 2 parking spaces for disabled pass holders in Via Nirone.

Entrance
The Archaeological Museum is housed in the former convent at the Monastery of San Maurizio. 6 steps, (15 cm high each), lead to the museum, with its 118 cm wide entrance door. The entrance hall is 10 metres further on, through a manual double leaf door (73 cm wide each).
People with disabilities and reduced mobility can enter the museum from the entrance at 2, Via Luini. This entrance is generally closed and to use it you must get in touch in advance with the staff of the Museum by dialling the following number: 0288445208. The alternative path for people with disabilities has the following characteristics: a gate (110 cm wide); a ramp (20 m long, slope of 3%, handrail on the left side); a 50 m paved path; a double leaf door (105 cm wide each) leading to the ground-floor rooms of the Archaeological Museum.
Information for visitors

Reception
The entrance hall in Corso Magenta contains:
- the info point (counter height: 92 cm)
- the ticket office (counter height: 92 cm)
- the bookshop (counter height: 96 cm)
The museum staff can provide information and assistance.
Direction signs
Room names and directional arrows are in high contrast and large lettering. In the entrance hall there are information panels on the museum and the archaeological contest (roman towers and archaeological paths in the city centre) in Braille and with a link to documentaries in LIS and in English.
Lift
The lift at the Via Nirone entrance has the following specifications:
- door width 100 cm, internal space 183x138 cm
- Elevator level buttons panel with embossed Braille printing (123 cm from the floor)
- acoustic and visual signal on arrival at the floor
- emergency alarm bell (110 cm from the floor)
The lift you find in the Corso Magenta entrance connects the museum to the choir of the church of San Maurizio and with floor -1 where the exhibition hall and the section “Abitare Mediolanum” are. It has the following specifications:
- door width 88 cm, internal space 110x93 cm
- Elevator level buttons panel with embossed Braille printing (110 cm from the floor)
- acoustic and visual signal on arrival at the floor
- emergency alarm bell (h 130 cm).
Exhibition Itinerary
The Archaeological Museum is housed in the former convent, adjacent to the church of San Maurizio.
The museum consists of two buildings, one in Corso Magenta and the new Museum extension in Via Nirone. The historic Corso Magenta building has two exhibition floors, 0 and -1. The ground floor contains the Ancient Milan section, which displays the architecture of Milan from the 1st to 4th centuries AD. From the entrance hall, the inner cloister is reached through a double leaf door (73 cm wide each). Here, you can visit the polygonal tower with its medieval frescoes. A wooden 30 m-long passageway leads to the building at Via Nirone 7.
The Via Nirone building has four exhibition floors. The entrances to the exhibition halls have manual double leaf doors (84 cm wide each).
Along the exhibition Itinerary, there are wall panels with information and descriptions of the exhibits (50 cm – 100 cm from the floor).
Exhibition hall
The Exhibition hall is on floor -1 and can be reached from the Corso Magenta building by lift. In order to enter the you must overcome 3 steps (16 cm high each) that can also be avoided by a stairlift.
Bathroom facilities
There are five disabled bathrooms.
The first one is on the ground floor in the Corso Magenta building, to the right of the ticket office, with the following specifications:
- bathroom with hinged door (80 cm wide)
- suspended washbasin (space in front 134 cm)
- floor-mounted WC (space in front 133 cm, 28 cm to the right and 127 cm to the left, horizontal handle to the left and handrail around the WC)
- clearly visible toilet signs at eye height, medium to large character sizes
The other bathroom facilities are situated on the 4 floors (0-1-2-3) of the Via Nirone building, with the following specifications:
- vestibule with sliding door (90 cm wide)
- bathroom with sliding door (87 cm wide)
- suspended washbasin (space in front 135 cm)
- floor-mounted WC (space in front 114 cm, 105 cm to the right and 27 cm to the left, horizontal handle to the right and handrail to the left
- clearly visible toilet signs at eye height, medium to large character sizes
The vestibule of the ground floor bathroom has a dressing table.
Emergency exits
The emergency exists are signposted. An acoustic alarm is installed.
