Parking
There are two parking spaces for disabled parking permit holders in Piazza San Babila. Cars can also be parked on the blue lines in Corso Venezia.

Entrance
A double-leaf door (120 cm wide each) leads to the inside of the building and to the main courtyard. The “Museo del Costume, moda e imagine” is on the first floor of Palazzo Morando.
The entrance to the museum has a step (2 cm), a ramp (65 cm long, slope of 8%), double-leaf door (90 cm wide each) and two flights of stairs (15 and 13 stairs, 13 cm high each;  handrail on the left). The first floor can be reached by lift.

 

Reception
On the ground floor, a step (14 cm) and hinged door (86 cm wide) lead into the hall where you find:

  • the ticket office (counter height: 91 cm)
  • the bookshop (counter height: 91 cm).

The museum staff can provide information and assistance.

 

Lift
The lift, connecting all floors of the building, can be reached from the main courtyard by overcoming a step (2 cm), a ramp (65 cm long, slope of 8%) and a double-leaf door (90 cm wide each).

It has the following characteristics:

  • automatic door (90 cm wide, cabin: inner space 138x150 cm)
  • Lift push buttons panel with embossed Braille printing at a maximum height of 121 cm
  • acoustic and visual signal on arrival at the floor.

 

Exhibition itinerary

The museum, on the first floor of an 18th century noble residence, is dedicated to the city of Milan and to a collection of costumes and fashion accessories.
The exhibition develops in 21 rooms and is formed by two separate sections: the Pinacoteca, in the rooms facing the inner courtyard of the building (the main courtyard), and the 18th century rooms of the Morando Attendolo Bolognini apartment, facing Via Sant'Andrea. All the routes within the rooms are free of obstacles.

 

Toilet facilities
The toilet equipped for people with disabilities is on the ground floor in the main courtyard and can be reached  overcoming a step (10 cm), a manual hinged door (84 cm wide) and has the following characteristics:

  • toilet with hinged door (98 cm wide)
  • wall-mounted washbasin (clear floor area: in front 124 cm)
  • floor standing toilet (clear floor area:  in front 126 cm; to the right side: 26 cm; to the left side: 128 cm)
  • handrail around the perimeter of the toilet
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

 

Emergency exits
The emergency exists are well indicated. A visual and acoustic alarm is installed.
