The Lenovo Relay Marathon connected to the Charity Program will also be part of the race’s program. It divides the official track into 4 fractions of length between 6.5 and 14.7 km each, with teams of runners relaying until the finish line. It’s for runners who want to combine participation in a great sporting event with the active support of a solidarity project. Over 3,000 teams are expected to part in the relay again this year.

Run Green is born, the project that will make the Milano Marathon increasingly attentive to sustainability and an example of care for the environment. The CO2 emissions produced by the race, as well by the activities scheduled for the Milano Running Festival, will be offset by targeted interventions either taking place during the event (separate waste collection and creation of eco islands in collaboration with AMSA, upcycle of plastic materials, collection of used running shoes, plogging activities) and ex post, by identifying solutions and projects that will be implemented in other areas of the planet. In this the organizer of the event, RCS Sports & Events - RCS Active Team, will be assisted by ClimatePartner, the German company that will certify the carbon-neutral nature of the event: residual CO2 emissions of the Telepass Milano Marathon will be offset through the purchase of Carbon Credits certified by Gold Standard. Furthermore, for every ton of CO2 being offset, 10 kilos of plastic waste will be removed from the ocean by the Plastic Bank organization.

Levissima, Title Sponsor of the School Marathon and long-time active in environmental protection, will also install a special “regeneration pad” in Piazza del Cannone during the race on Sunday, which will use the flow of runners to produce green energy. An initiative which, in tandem with a major effort in plastic bottle recycling, will enable the company to develop a sustainability project in conjunction with the City of Milano.

The Milano Running Festival with the new Title Sponsor Helbiz will be open from Thursday 31 March to Satruday 2 April inside the MiCo – Milano Convention Center at CityLife (M5 Tre Torri), which will be transformed into an exhibition hub for entertainment activities, workshops and clinics, book and product presentations. A meeting space for commercial actors operating in the world of running, fitness and sports tourism, but especially a showcase for all amateur joggers and professional runners, and anybody who is into long-distance running and track & field sports.

The 6th Levissima School Marathon will take place on Saturday 2 April at 9 am in the CityLife skyscraper district. The 3-kilometer race dedicated to children in collaboration with OPES (Organization for Sports Education) will depart from Viale Berengario and finish in Via Arona, next to the Vigorelli Velodrome.
