FABRICK JOINS MILANO&PARTNERS TO STRENGTHEN THE CITY'S ROLE AS FINTECH HUB

Milan, May 17, 2021 – Pandemic difficulties have not stopped the pace of financial innovation in Milano. The city has the ambition of becoming the EU’s prime fintech hub, and is forging ahead through new alliances. In fact, Fabrick, a company launched by Banka Sella in 2018 to promote Open Finance and foster collaborations between banks, fintech and corporations, has joined Milano&Partners, the official promotion agency of the city.

Fabrick has decided to make available to Milano&Partners the know-how accumulated through its open banking platform and the network of relations developed in recent years as a major player for the evolution of international financial services. The collaboration between YesMilano, a brand of Milano&Partners, and Fintech District, the reference community for the industry in Italy (170 fintechs and 16 corporate associates), which will now be headed by Fabrick, enables the implementation of initiatives aimed at making the city more attractive for the international investors and industry actors.

Fabrick will also work with Milano&Partners for the second edition the Milan Fintech Summit, an international event devoted to the world of digital payments, organized and promoted by the Fintech District and Business International, a division of Fiera Milano Media specializing in executive training. The forthcoming edition of the Milan Fintech Summit is scheduled for October 4-5, 2021.

Paolo Zaccardi, CEO of Fabrick thus comments the agreement: "We very much believe that Milan can become one of the European capitals of fintech and we want to be active protagonists in all those initiatives that can strengthen its positioning as an international reference for financial innovation. Positioning the city as a fintech ecosystem capable of attracting talent and investment will allow the sector to grow and seize important opportunities to the benefit of the entire country. To achieve this goal it is necessary that all actors, both private and public actors, collaborate and create an ecosystem. As Fabrick and Fintech District, we make available our vision, our know-how and the international relations developed in recent years with the main European innovation hubs. Today more than ever, Milan needs everyone's commitment to recover the growth opportunities lost over last difficult year ".

For his part, Luca Martinazzoli, General Manager of Milano&Partners says: "Fintech is a strategic sector for Milano’s recovery. We work every day to promote this ecosystem abroad, and Fabrick and Fintech District are central players in this. To compete with other international hubs and increase its attractiveness, Milan must continue to communicate proactively with a single voice, proposing itself as a unified business system, in order to increase transparency for foreign investors and valorize its strengths and success stories internationally".
