1st of October - International Coffee Day

At the heart is our love for coffee. Our ambition is to become People-Positive, the type of company that invests in people and the well-being of the lives it touches: from partners to coffee farmers to customers, both inside and outside our stores.

Starbucks® and global sustainability

The protection of the environment against the constant challenges it has to face is at the centre of Starbucks®.

We are increasingly committed to developing an ethical and sustainable production and supply-chain model.

Today farmers are facing ever-growing challenges to their long-term future.

Starbucks® opened its very first Farmer Support Center in San José, Costa Rica, in 2004, while launching its own innovative verification programme C.A.F.E. (Coffee and Farmer Equity) Practices, in collaboration with Conservation International. C.A.F.E. Practices are a set of rigorous standards that aim at supporting and promoting transparent, profitable and sustainable coffee farming practices while enhancing the lives and livelihoods of coffee farmers, their families and their communities.

Today Starbucks has 10 Farmer Support Center across the world providing farmers with free access to the latest findings of Starbucks agronomists, including new disease-resistant trees and advanced soil-management techniques.

Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery Milano

The coffee experience in Piazza Cordusio.

Travelling around the world you will only meet six Roasteries: Seattle, Shanghai, Milan, New York, Tokyo and Chicago. An incredible feat of Italian craft and coffee innovation that you can explore thanks to our Roastery partners (employees) and experiential activities. Here high-quality arabica coffee beans, ethically sourced from over 30 countries, are roasted into Starbucks Reserve™ coffees that will not be served just in Milan but in Reserve™ stores and bars across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.

At the Roastery you can enjoy coffee crafted with different brewing methods (Pour-over, Chemex, Siphon, Coffee Press, Espresso, Clover™ Brewed Coffee, Cold Brew). Worth a visit is the Arriviamo Bar, where you can try the most innovative cold brew-based cocktails.

Starbucks® store: your Third Place

Through the exclusive partnership with Percassi, our licensee in Italy, Starbucks® stores tell an important part of a story that honours coffee and its heritage of craft. Starbucks®'s Italian journey starts with coffee and reaches the heart of Italians thanks to the attentive tailored-made service that blends brand elements and customs of our country. The heritage of espresso and the

love for good food are some of the cornerstones that Starbucks® has used to create an experience that goes hand in hand with the country in which it operates. Great attention is paid to the food offering with handpicked quality products; to the world of espresso thanks to the professional Black Eagle machine by Victoria Arduino;
