Bicycles are environment friendly and practical when moving in the city. Milano offers cycling fans about 144 kilometers of cycling routes and lanes on a completely flat territory. Adults do not need to wear a helmet.

Bike sharing is present with fix pick-up and drop-off points as well as free floating that can be booked via app.

• BIKEMI

The BikeMi service by ATM and Comune di Milano allows bike rental via app and online, payment is not possible with pre-paid cards.

The service offers traditional bikes, bikes with pedal assistance and some with a child-seat. Junior BikeMi is also available for kids from 6 to 10 years of age, with mandatory use of the helmet, only at certain BikeMi stations generally near a park.

Prices vary according to the user’s choice, please check them on the webpage alongside the map of pick-up points.
Rental is allowed for 16-year-olds onwards and it is operating every day of the year from 06.00 a.m. to midnight.

• FREE FLOATING BIKE SHARING 

"Free floating" bikes can be picked up via app and parked on the street wherever parking is not reserved or is forbidden and in all parking areas for bikes in the city. In any case, bikes must represent no obstacle for vehicles or pedestrians.

• BIKES IN THE UNDERGROUND

ATM allows all passengers to carry one bike in the underground and on some tram lines. When trains are exceedingly crowded or for security or any other reason, the service can be temporarily suspended.

In compliance with national rules and regulations, electric kick scooters can circulate on urban streets with a speed limit of 50 km/h but can’t exceed 25 km/h; extra-urban streets must have a cycling route where electric scooters must circulate; on pedestrian areas the speed limit is 6 km/h. They are not allowed to circulate on sidewalks. The use of the helmet is mandatory for people under 18 years of age and it is also mandatory to wear a retro-reflective vest at night. Kids under 14 years of age are not allowed to use an electric scooter.

It is possible to rent bikes even for multiple days at specialized shops. An identity document and a deposit are required.

The motorscooter fleet allows two people to travel together and two helmets are located in the case. It is a free floating service with no keys required: it is possible to book the service via the app and when finished using, you just leave the motorscooter inside the operating area. Entrance in Area C is free of charge.
Parking spaces are free of charge; dedicated spaces are available.
