We are launching the 1st edition of the Milano Matching Days.

Are you looking for expansion opportunities and considering Milano as one of the potential expansion destinations? If so, this can be the perfect opportunity for you!

WHEN:

• March 2023, presumably from the 6th to the 11th of March

• Monday to Friday - with the possibility to stay over the weekend

WHERE:

• at the heart of Milan: Palazzo Giureconsulti (in front of Duomo) will be the location where most gatherings and networking events will be held

• any other company visits and/or leisure activities will be carried out in the City

WHO:

• maximum 20 international (with neither operations or any other activity in Italy nor team members residing in Italy) innovative startups (at least early-stage) that have a clear expansion strategy for the next 12-36 months and can convey their interest in Milan as a destination

• the experience is sector-agnostic but startups operating in our priority sectors (i.e., Fintech, Life Sciences, Agrifood Tech, Cleantech & Energy, ICT) are preferred

• those startups that were at Slush and completed our Crush test can apply starting from the 12th of December, all the others from the 19th onwards

• applications close on the 16th of January, 2023 - 12.00 am

• an internal evaluation committee will review all the applications and assign a score to all participants based on:

  • size and relevance of the startup’s market of origin within the reference sector (max 20 points)

  • startup track-record to date (revenue growth, registered IP/patents if any, …) (max 10 points)

  • team structure and relative expertise (max 20 points)

  • # and amount of rounds of investments to date (max 15 points)

  • stated mission and strategy for the future (10 points)

  • foreseen time-horizon for a potential expansion and set-up in Milan (10 points)

  • potential to cover specific needs of the ecosystem and to be leveraged as a partner by key players operating in town (10 points)

  • focus on sustainability (5 points)

• minimum score is 60 and in case of even score, those applying earlier have the priority

• selection communications will occur between the 17th and the 20th of January. Once notified about the selection, applicants have 5 days to accept and whoever refuses after acceptance have to pay a penalty fee (please refer to the program terms and conditions)

• when applying, a set of information must be provided and a pdf document (max 10 slides) must be uploaded (refer to the terms and conditions for contents and more details)

In general, what we value is: the innovation level of the applying company and the alignment to Milan Tech environment – based on Milan ecosystems’ specific development needs, the economic sustainability of the company based on key figures reported (and declared), the level of commitment to expand in Milan and the foreseen time-horizon for the expansion and set-up (up to 36 months).

WHAT and HOW:

• participants will be involved in both leisure and business activities

• depending on the selected participants' sector and features, the week's activities will be tailored

• thanks to our partners and Milan innovation ecosystem’s players, we will organize site visits at key plyers’ HQs, networking moments, and roundtables on specific topics, etc. for you to get all the information and advice you need

• on top of that, you will have the chance to access key attractions (incl. most innovative ones) of the City and feel the vibes of our Milanese lifestyle
