At this time different cinema, theater and museum institutions in Milano are becoming more and more virtual. To this wide offer are added many cultural online initiatives, grouped in this section dedicated to the many ways to #mediascape. So here are the choices of YesMilano's editorial staff in order not to get lost in this newborn sea of digital publishing.

Rinascente Archives

The Rinascente Archives project was launched in 2015, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Bocconi Warehouses' foundation and of the 100th anniversary of the name created in 1917 by the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio. The aim is to reconstitute the virtual archive of the company, lost through various historical events, and retrace the evolution of the brand's identity, through research, reproduction and enhancement of past images and documents, preserved in local and national archives and libraries.

The archive is further enriched in these days, when the iconic institution of Milanese shopping remains closed to customers, while its memory becomes more accessible than ever.

Vogue Archive

The fashion magazine par excellence, whose Italian edition’s editorial staff is based in Milano, has made its digitized archive available and searchable online for free until June 13. The project has the didactic title of "Vogue Archive", a precious container that collects the entire history of the magazine from 1964 to the present day, and which is just a click away.

The Colouring Book by Milano Art Guide

Milano Art Guide digital platform activated the project "The Colouring Book", curated by Rossella Farinotti & Gianmaria Biancuzzi, promoted in partnership with Lara Facco P&C.

More than 200 contemporary artists answered Milano Art Guides invitation to create a black-and- white drawing for everyone to download and colour, to help make containment a little less burdensome.

The Colouring Book is a virtual colouring album to be put together day after day, collecting all the drawings that Milano Art Guide will regularly publish online. You can browse it, download the A4-sized drawings to your devices or even print and colour them.

Generous as usual, artists felt compelled to contribute with their creativity and provide a few hours of joy amidst the current situation.

You can share your masterpieces on the social networks, tagging the name of the artist and @milanoartguide. The recommended hashtags are: #MilanoArtGuide, #TheColouringBook, #iorestoacasa, #laculturanonsiferma.

These days are a good opportunity to consult "MemoMi", a virtual museum born in 2014, to tell Milano story through video material recovered from public and private archives. This web museum, developed by 3D Produzioni, is promoted by Associazione Chiamale Storie, with the support of the Pasquinelli Foundation.

Video-art by Charles Atlas on display at ICA Milano

Ominous, Glamorous, Momentous, Ridiculous is the first exhibition in Italy by acclaimed American artist Charles Atlas, which was due to open on March 12 at ICA Milano. The temporary closure has prompted Alberto Salvadori, the Foundation's Director and exhibition's curator, to take it to Instagram and Facebook. This way, starting from Wednesday, April 1, you will have the opportunity to visit the solo show of the famous US video-artist from your devices!

We remain in the field of literary-visual culture, but we definitely change our tone. We would like to point out a very amusing undertaking that involves the world of comics: as you can imagine, the current difficulties have led to the postponement of many events dedicated to publishing. In response to this limitation, It Comics has created Corona(VS)Comics!, an online comics exhibition that allows the public and professionals to find a point of encounter and confrontation without risk of contagion, in the light of the responsible motto #iorestoacasa (#stayhome), which for the occasion has been transformed into #iorestoacasacolfumetto ("#stayhomewithcomics").

Wow Spazio Fumetto - Strip Comic Museum Milano

Wow Spazio Fumetto promotes the discovery of Milano by participating in the project "Milano in 60 secondi o quasi" ("Milano in almost 60 seconds"), available on YouTube: more than 60 videos, many of which are subtitled in English, made by Gian Luca Margheriti with the contribution of La Tenda Rossa and RaccontaMI, the series of yellow books set in Milano.

Milano Design Film Festival

"I viaggi da camera" by Fondazione Trussardi

The stimulating online project proposed by Fondazione Nicola Trussardi is entitled "Viaggi da camera" ("Room Travels"): it collects and distributes daily images, videos and texts, chosen by artists invited to describe their domestic and private space. Every day, starting from March 27, 2020, a new contribution will be published on the Foundation's website and social channels. The project, inspired by Xavier De Maistre's famous 18th century novel "Viaggio intorno alla mia camera" ("Journey around my room"), and written during a 42-day obligatory stay in a room in Turin, invites artists to open the doors of their rooms to undertake new journeys with their creativity.

"Being isolated for such a long time opens a kind of mental window with a double panorama, one intimate and one on the world. The first, very intense, is for oneself. The other projection, on the other hand, is all about the outside of oneself, about the afterwards. I feel lucky to be able to live this moment as an opportunity". This is how Paola Manfredi, one of the most important PRs in the Milanese cultural world, speaks to the world. She has launched the #PCMDiaries campaign on the Instagram page of her press office, a collection of video stories where journalists tell about the most beautiful and interesting exhibitions they have seen in Milano and in other cities of art.

Galleria Tommaso Calabro, "Casa Iolas" & Francesco Vezzoli

Galleria Tommaso Calabro joins the #iorestoacasa initiative by publishing on its social channels a selection of content related to the exhibition "Casa Iolas. Interphone Vezzoli", curated by the artist Francesco Vezzoli, as it waits to reschedule its opening to the public. In particular, the gallery, with a daily post, presents the famous artists who collaborated with Iolas and who are included in the upcoming exhibition: Giorgio de Chirico, René Magritte, Andy Warhol, Fausto Squatriti are some of the protagonists of this path aimed at deepening their intimacy of domestic life and home. The first post was dedicated to Iolas with a photograph depicting him inside his legendary villa. The image was published in the 1980s as an accompaniment to an interview for the italian magazine Oggi.
