in 2021 QS World Universities Ranking. Among The Top 20 in its Core Subjects

The Qs World University Rankings 2021 has just been published. Now in its 17th edition, the document has selected the 1000 best universities in the world and our Politecnico di Milano advanced many steps further to the top. On its key subjects, PoliMi is among the best in the world.

PoliMi was established in 1863, being one the most outstanding technical universities in Europe, and the largest Italian university in Engineering, Architecture and Design, with nearly 45,000 students. 

Seven campuses are located in Milano, with other branches in other nearby Italian cities: Lecco, Cremona, Mantova and Piacenza.

The Best Performing Subjects

Engineering, architecture and design are the excellences of Politecnico di Milano in the world, as well as in Italy.

Just to mention a few subjects, according to QS ranking by subjects 2020, the Politecnico was 7th in the world for Architecture, got a 6th position for Art and Design, and 20th for Engineering and Technology.

The best university in Italy for the Qs Global Rankings 2021

The Politecnico di Milano is for the sixth consecutive year the best Italian University, in the meanwhile advancing 12 positions in one year towards the top in the world ranking.

In Italy, Politecnico confirms the first place in Architecture and Design and all sectors of Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Science and Information Systems, Civil & Structural, Electrical & Electronic, Aeronautical and Manufacturing.

The Qs World University Ranking Parameters

QS World University Ranking is the international ranking of the most prestigious universities in the world.

QS - Quacquarelli Symonds - has selected the 1000 best universities in the world distributed in 93 countries based on the opinions of 102,662 teachers, academics and researchers and 51,649 managers and directors of human resources, in addition to the analysis of 18,530,368 scientific publications and 138,397,765 citations.

This conspicuous amount of information has been evaluated according to 6 well-defined parameters that make it one of the most appreciated international rankings: Academic reputation, reputation of the employer, student / faculty ratio, quotes by faculty, internationalization level report of the faculty, report number of international students.
