Winter Olympics 2026: victory!

Milano and Cortina will host the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

Milano and Cortina won the race for the organisation of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, overtaking the other finalist, Stockholm.

Two cities, four regions, a single soul loving sport, bound to live a unique experience, a dream of every athlete, that also involves worldwide public of all ages.

Expo Milano 2015 was a great international success, which highlighted the spirit of cooperation and the ability to carry out a complex project until its success. Also, being a unique entity notwithstanding the difference among the countries of the world: all of this will be the starting point to take us even further, in creating games that are concretely the most sustainable, exciting and projected towards the future games that have ever been seen. The whole Italian nation is committed, as it was for the Expo, to create an unforgettable Olympic Games.

Milano, an inspiring, innovative and creative city, one of the most dynamic in Europe, joins Cortina d'Ampezzo, Valtellina, Val di Fiemme and Anterselva / Antholz, in the splendid traditional mountain framework of the Italian Alps. Formerly the site of the Winter Olympic Games of 1956, Cortina, the Pearl of the Dolomites, is an international destination for winter sports of the highest level.

Together, we will create a memorable edition of the Winter Olympic Games focused on sustainability criteria, taking advantage of the experience, passion and Italian tradition in winter sports, with the aim of being a source of inspiration for athletes. Also, we will offer numerous long term benefits for sport and society.

See you in 2026!
