Milano Art Week 2020

The week dedicated to modern and contemporary art

From 14th till 19th April 2020, during miart, the international fair of modern and contemporary art, Milano becomes a hub for visual culture and modern and contemporary art, thanks to the exciting calendar of events of Milano Art Week, which chalks up its fourth edition in 2020.

Museums, art centres, private foundations and design spaces offer the public the fruits of a shared commitment through solo and collective exhibitions, performances and talks.

The complete programme will be available in March 2020.

Solo exhibitions and new commissions

Important international artists will be the focus of solo exhibitions and new commissions: Olafur Eliasson for Fondazione Nicola Trussardi, Tania Bruguera at the PAC | Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea contemporary art gallery, Martin Kippenberger and Liu Ye at Fondazione Prada, Rirkrit Tiravanija at the Museum of Science and Technology, Nairy Baghramian for Fondazione Furla at the GAM | Gallery of Modern Art, Charles Atlas at Fondazione ICA, Enzo Mari at the Triennale, Trisha Baga at the Pirelli HangarBicocca, Marinella Senatore at Fondazione Stelline and Alessandro Pessoli at the Diocesan Museum.

Retrospectives and in-depth exhibitions

Major retrospectives and in-depth exhibitions will be devoted to complex historical figures including Chen Zhen at the Pirelli HangarBicocca, Carla Accardi at the Museo del Novecento and Gianni Colombo at Fondazione Marconi, while at the Triennale Guillermo Kuitca will curate a selection of works from the collection of Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain.


The language of performance art will be explored by Christodoulos Panayiotou at the Triennale and MAI/Marina Abramović Institute at the Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli.

ArtLine Milano

The public art project ArtLine Milano, the Parco delle Sculture sculpture park in the Citylife district – which already showcases design by renowned architects Isozaki, Hadid and Libeskind e Fuksas – will be boosted by four new site-specific works created by Mario Airò, Alfredo Jaar, Maurizio Nannucci, Wilfredo Prieto.

The City of Milano takes part in ArtWeek 2020 with its cultural institutions – GAM | Gallery of Modern Art, PAC | Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea contemporary art gallery, Museo del Novecento, Palazzo Reale, MUDEC | Museum of Culture, Studio Museo Francesco Messina – and with the public art project ArtLine Milano.
