Every year the much-anticipated annual award ceremony by ‘Chi è Chi’ (Who’s Who) the fashion editorial project inaugurates the September fashion week and, this year, it celebrates its 21st edition. The Fashion and Design Who’s Who is not just the top yearbook with all the contact details for fashion journalism and design houses; it is also a well-established September date that heralds the start of Fashion Week.

The prestigious awards will be presented by a jury of journalists selected from the most important newspapers in the sector, who will elect the winners based on a different theme for each edition.

The theme of last year's digital edition was ‘The Movie’, by the well-known director Sergio Salerni; this year Chi è Chi will return to being a live event in the presence of all the winners, the jury and, current Covid-19 regulations permitting, of the invited public.

This line-up of candidates will be based on the theme of female empowerment, an extremely pertinent issue encompassing not only 'empowerment' but also raising self-awareness and gaining control over one's choices, decisions and actions, both in the sphere of personal relationships and in political and social situations.
