The very existence of our agency underlines Milano's distinctive ability to create an ecosystem in which public and private actors can work together for the common good of the city. As is evident from our name, Partners play a key role in the Association. These are the companies and institutions that have decided to support our destination management projects to make Milano great. Partners are therefore crucial for the success of Milano&Partners as a DMO.
Milano&Partners works according to a project-based approach to involve Partners in the city's strategic development and marketing decisions.
The Four Working Tables with Partners
In 2024, we created four Discussion Tables that put our Partners and the Municipality of Milano around the same table to discuss together the policy areas that are most important to reap the city's growth potential.
MICE & FDI is the table where we discuss how to position Milano as a privileged destination for business tourism, and site of major international fairs and congresses, while pursuing efforts to make Milano more attractive for foreign capital investments, in the belief that large-scale events can be a multiplier of opportunities for the Milanese and Lombard ecosystem of R&D.
INNOVATIVE MILANO is the table to discuss Milano's role as a university city and research and innovation hub, in particular in Life Sciences, Fintech, Agrifood and Cleantech. It is a space for sharing information and resources on open innovation projects, to build a collective storytelling on Milano as a hub for innovation and talent, and create a network of Ambassadors capable of promoting and retelling Milano as a city where innovation is a daily vocation.
TOURISM & NEW MARKETS is the table that explores new ways to leverage the increase in tourist flows that has benefited Milano, with a peak of 14 million arrivals in summer 2023, in a medium-term perspective that includes the milestone of the Winter Olympic Games and Paralympics of Milano Cortina 2026. It aims to develop new segments of the tourism market, on the basis of an in-house data analysis service, by focusing on the growth of high-quality tourism, both in the sense of the demand for experiences requested by visitors, and in the sense of offering high-end services in the hotel and restaurant industries of the metro area.
URBAN REGENERATION is the table that addresses the future of Milano's neighborhoods: the conversion of former industrial areas into innovation districts, residential areas and green parks with spaces, services and infrastructures thanks to which the Milanese population can work, create and prosper. It aims to tell the story of the urban growth and development of Milano through the regeneration of under/unused building assets, also with placemaking actions in districts and neighborhoods. At the table we encourage the creation of networks between operators and joint public-private partnerships.
