How to get to Milano by plane

Milan has 3 main airports - Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate and Orio al Serio International Airport (BG). Together they provide extensive and frequent national and international connections.

 

 

1. MILAN MALPENSA AIRPORT
It is the largest and most important international and intercontinental airport in northern Italy and is located 48 km northwest of Milan. It consists of 2 terminals.

 

Connections between Milan and Malpensa:

 

  • BY CAR:
    the journey from Milan to Malpensa by car takes approximately an hour. Take the A8 Milano-Laghi motorway. Exit - Busto Arsizio-Malpensa.

 

  • BY TRAIN: MALPENSA EXPRESS 146 trains a day, between 4:27 and 00:20

    Milano Cadorna – Malpensa Terminal 1 & 2
    Approximately every 30 minutes in both directions. Journey time: 29 minutes.
    Journey with intermediary stops at Milano Bovisa, Saronno and Busto Arsizio. Journey time: 36 minutes

    Milano Centrale – Malpensa Terminal 1 & 2
    Journey with stops at Milano P.ta Garibaldi and Milano Bovisa. Journey time: 43 minutes.
    Journey with stops at Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Bovisa, Saronno, Rescaldina, Castellanza, Busto Arsizio, Ferno - Lonate Pozzolo. Journey time: 52 minutes.

  • BY AIRPORT COACH:
    Shuttle services that link with Central Station and Linate airport.

    CENTRAL STATION:
    TerravisionBuses every 20 minutes. Journey time: 50 minutes.
    Purchase tickets online, on board and at the Terravision kiosk in the Arrivals Area T1 and T2.

  • BY TAXI:
    Various taxi services are available. Taxi stands can be found at ARRIVALS, ground floor, exit 6 in Terminal 1 and exit 4 in Terminal 2.
    Tarifs: Milan/Malpensa € 90;  Malpensa/ Rho Trade Fair  € 65;  Malpensa/Linate € 100.

 

  • CAR RENTAL:
    Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 offer car hire services.

 

2. MILAN LINATE AIRPORT

Linate is the city airport par excellence. Very close to the city centre, is just 9 km from the Central Station.

 

  • BY CAR: the airport is in viale Forlanini. Take the Tangenziale Est and follow directions to the airport.

 

  • BY BUS:
    Via Gonzaga/Duomo in the city centre can easily be reached in 20 minutes with bus n.73. First journey: 06:00. Last journey: 01:06
    Buses run every 10 minutes throughout the day, every day.

3. ORIO AL SERIO (BG) AIRPORT
Orio al Serio is 50 km from the city centre and well connected with Milan. The journey takes approximately an hour.

 

  • BY CAR:
    To reach the airport by car take the Milano-Venezia A4 motorway, exit at Bergamo arriving from Milano, exit at Seriate arriving from Brescia.

 

  • BY TRAIN:
