WEPLANET – 100 GLOBES FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

On the streets of Milano, from August 27th to November 7th  WePlanet Association, in collaboration with Mondadori Group, is set to draw attention and raise funds in favour of the environment and the health of all citizens, contributing to the 17 Global Goals of the UN (SDGs –United Nations).

The globes, made of recycled plastic, are created and carried out by the young artists of the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Brera and by famous designers and artists. They have interpreted sustainability using the large spheric support as their canvas. A trip among a creative and visionary world where the globes turn into original and unexpected artistic works.

UNIFOR

Starting point: four among Aldo Rossi’s most iconic pieces of furniture, designed for Unifor between the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s.

The Parigi armchair, the Cartesio library, the Consiglio table and the Museo chair are revisited and presented in a very small piazza from Sept. 5, at the historic Unifor space in Corso Matteotti, Milan. Through an evocative installation by RonGilad, we find ourselves in a surrealist painting.

On the first floor, images and original drawings by the architect are on display, courtesy of the firm’s historical archive.

CATTELAN AT PISCINA COZZI

Swimming surrounded by art: it is now possible at the Cozzi swimming pool, which until September 2022 will be embellished by the intense and surreal mural by Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari – inaugurated during Milano Design Week 2021.

A photography of sorts, conceived for magazines, becomes a giant mural - 246 square-meters of painted surface, with an almost 30-metre base and more than 10 metres high – dominating the vast internal space of the swimming pool. Recalling the underwater world, it merges with the solemn architectural structure, highlighting its original aim to illuminate the location, uniting practical and decorative purposes.

It is just an initial moment of the creative partnership between Desigual and ToiletPaper. Animated by the same revolutionary and unexpected attitude towards creativity, they will present more initiatives after the one at Cozzi in 2022.  Cattelan loves this pool - and that thanks to Milanosport the contaminations are not a novelty.
