Drawing inspiration from the consciousness of women in their daily lives and from the experience with oppressive and censorial dictatorship – the one in Brazil in the ’70s and ’80s – Anna Maria Maiolino, an artist of Italian descent currently living in Brazil, creates works which are teeming with life. Through performances, sculptures, videos, photographs and drawings, Maiolino explores human relationships and our difficulties in communicating and expressing ourselves somewhere on the border between human physicality and our intimate and spiritual sphere. At PAC the artist will set up a site-specific installation and present her new performance.
