Men dancing in impalpable clouds of tulle - the tutus that inspire the title of the show - and don’t take themselves too seriously. This would be enough to love to madness the most irreverent dance company of recent times: Les Chicos Mambo. Theirs is a rigorous and fun "en travesti" dance at the same time.
"Cie La Feuille d'Automne” company, founded in Barcelona in 1994 by Philippe Lafeuille, shows how the choreography's dynamics and codes can be deconstructed through the sense of humor. After having walked the stages of half the world with more than 300 replicas and having received the favor of the audience (in 2015 the show won the Audience Award at 50° Festival Off in Avignon) Tutu arrives in Milano, hosted by Teatro Menotti. Disguised as dancers, the Chicos Mambo, who count in their ranks the Italian dancer Vincenzo Veneruso, will give us moments of aesthetic joy and cultured quotations, moving on the notes of a repertoire capable of turning from classical to contemporary.
The show consists of 20 iconic“pictures” able to express, with self-irony, explosions of color and comic inventions, the universal love for dance. Both amateur and connoisseur audiences will be fascinated by the fantastic and theatrical universe staged by these extraordinary artists, to show that ballet is (also) a man’s affair!
Teatro Menotti (today Menotti Teatro Filippo Perego), active in the City for more than 40 years, is the event's location. At risk of closure in recent time, the theatre proudly claims all the love for art by offering its stage to this highly innovative project
