Christmas lights in Piazza della Scala

"Good lights" in Milano for a more sustainable Christmas

Piazza della Scala

Piazza della Scala begins to shine for the Super Christmas 2019 on Thursday 5 December: a luminous and reflective ceiling with small crystal rhinestones and an installation of 200 meters of LED tubes surround passers-by until 6 January 2020.

The “Luci Buone a Milano” lighting project, sponsored by ENGIE Italia, is inspired by the prestigious Teatro alla Scala, which has always hosted great artists and productions under its ceiling: that same ceiling extends to the square with a noticeable effect of lights but in the name of CO2 reduction, for a more harmonious progress.

Two interactive totems help you choose the "Good intentions of 2020" and calculate your own "carbon foot print" through a CO2 calculator.

In a zero-pollution Piazza della Scala, the opportunity of having a Green Selfie through the totem LED displays could not be missing; in the name of the #piùsiamomenopesiamo are distributed Christmas eco-cards and flyers with the decalogue of tips for a "sustainable Christmas".

Opening night on December 5th at 17:30 with ENGIE Silent Party “Zero decibel x zero CO2”, thanks to which Piazza della Scala turns into a huge silent ballroom, where passers-by equipped with headphones can dance waltzes or disco dances under the live direction of Filippo Nardi DJ.
