Monza, 3:10 PM. Here we go with the 91st edition of the Italian Grand Prix.
The sound of V6 engines is about to interrupt the quiet atmosphere at Monza Eni Circuit.
When all five traffic lights of Rettifilo switch off, the twenty lined up cars start together quickly and they race among many hard brakes and fast overtakings. The track of Monza circuit is going to be traversed from Prima Variante up to Curva Biassono, then La Roggia, the “two” of Lesmo, the Serraglio up to the Variante Ascari. The last turn, the Parabolica, finishes up to the Rettifilo where the checked flag is flapping.
Today Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc race the same track that once was covered by Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda and Alberto Ascari. History tells Ferrari has won 19 times - indeed it is the most successful team of Monza circuit.
The racing track has been named “Temple of speed”. Indeed here Kimi Räikkönen marked the fastest lap of Formula 1, in 2018 - 263,587km/h per 5700 meters, and this is the place where the drivers reach the maximum speed in all the World Championship competitions.
This is an appointment all Formula One fans cannot miss.
