The Fuorisalone 2020 goes digital

In a certain sense, Milano Design Week will still go ahead in 2020: despite the cancelled April edition, that was postponed to June and then cancelled again, the Salone opens up to new scenarios and novel formats (on the June dates) through Fuorisalone.it, the indispensable digital tool for orientation, understanding and getting to know the Fuorisalone and the Salone del Mobile, the two creative souls of Design Week.

 

From Monday June 15th to Sunday 21st the date is with Fuorisalone Digital: open to devotees, professionals and all the companies that can’t benefit from being there this year. Live talks, product previews, interviews and concerts will inspire, communicate and provide dedicated advice. Online access is totally free.

Design areas and thematic itineraries

Artemest, Belgium is Design, Brera Design District, Institut français, Isola Design District, KbWindow, Materially, Swiss Design District, Theatro, Tortona Rocks, Virtual Design Variations, Focus Portugal and Worth are just a selection of the main design areas and thematic/collective itineraries that remote visitors can discover online.

Fuorisalone TV and Fuorisalone Meets: the new formats

Two additional formats are launched for 2020 to enhance the platform: Fuorisalone TV - live streaming with talks, presentations and previews from June 15th to 21st, plus, on-demand with free access for a large archive of films and series dedicated to design and architecture - and Fuorisalone Meets: a webinar platform that enables companies to provide seminars and presentations where a remote audience can attend and discuss.

Fuorisalone Japan and Fuorisalone China

Two new distribution channels:

  • As the name suggests Fuorisalone Japan is the new web platform dedicated to Japan that aims to communicate the best of Nipponese design and lifestyle and to promote the culture of Milan Design Week. It is directed at architects, designers and companies as well as the Japanese public. 
  • The Fuorisalone China platform will promote brands, designers and companies operating in China through the Wechat, Weibo and Tencent Video channels.
