Are you a design lover? From September 28th to October 10th creativity and design are back in the streets and in the places dedicated in town with Milano Design City.

Two weeks of activities, meetings, installations, events and itineraries in the neighbourhoods, districts, showrooms e and cult locations.


After the long lockdown days, with this new event in town Milano is reprising its role and its vocation as an international landmark for culture project, innovation and development of new thought patterns.

Special attention is dedicated to the dialogue among all national and international subjects operating in the design branch and to the exchange of ideas and trends for the redesigning of urban spaces, sustainability and circular economy.

Not forgetting the days that are behind us, all the Milano design City events open to the public will comply with all the safety measures.

Interni Designer's Week

13 days of talks and interviews about future of design

The magazine Inteni presents Interni Designer’s Week Milano: a series of initiatives aimed at digitalizing and discovering more about events, presentations, conferences, debates in presence as well as online that are held in showrooms and galleries in Milano and in the headquarters of firms on the occasion of Milano Design City, from September 28th to October 10th. 


13 days of talks and interviews at the INTERNI Meeting Point located by the Istituto Marangoni Milano Design (via Cerva 24) to discuss about the future of design with the most influential voices on the national architecture and design scene.

Fuorisalone Design Edition

Fuorisalone, in continuity with the Fuorisalone Digital, from September 28 to October 10th will present a new itinerary of events on the territory, dedicated to the world of design and project culture, parallel to talks, webinars and round tables which will animate the rich digital calendar of Fuorisalone TV

Design helps healing

on September 28th at ADI Design Museum

On September 28th in the spaces of the ADI Design Museum Milano, the winners of the 2nd edition of the Il Design Aiuta a Guarire (Design helps healing) contest, promoted by ADI and AIRC Lombardia will be announced: objects to cure newborn patients, kids and teens from 0 to 14 years of age.


The contest, which takes place every 2 years, alternates itself with Love Design, an initiative which offers to the public design items produced by the best Italian design creators to support research" 


The Triennale will host the Final of the Contest IDEASxWOOD promoted by Tabu: the contest about ideas for university students and Under 40 designers.

A project with a strong educational purpose, aimed at supporting the knowledge of wood and its value as a raw material that is precious, alive and renewable.


Tabu is an Italian excellence in the treating of wood, with its headquarter in Cantù (CO), producing painted and multi-layer veneer for furnishing and interior design

Milano Durini District, product design a protagonist again

Milano Durini Design gives voice to the strong recovery will of its associates, design sector representatives, activating a series of projects and contributing in giving a strong signal to the city of Milano.


Milano Durini Design has commited itself presenting what was expected for the Salone dal Mobile 2020, cancelled because of the Covid pandemic.

Showrooms will host moments of cultural discussion, with the presence of international designers.

For the occasion, the district will become an ‘atelier of diffused beauty’.

In the hands of women

In MyOwnGallery is an exhibition project dedicated to the creativity of women between art and design, consisting of “I Fiori della Materia” (“The Flowers Of Matter”) by Gisella Borioli, and “Narcisi Fragili” (“Fragile Narcissuses”) by Sabino Maria Frassà.

13 female designers and artists, among them Paola Navone, Elena Salmistraro and Laura de Santillana will be involved.

Opening Tuesday, September 22nd, 05.00 p.m. Talk 1 and October 29th, 06.30 p.m.

Design Photo Remix

9th edition

Always limited to the object itself, the project really is an ensemble of passages and qualified relationships, more and more complex and demanding.

The group synergy is crucial: to us engage ourselves in a relationship means to be able to listen, even step back a little if it helps us better ourselves.


With its creative photos, Design Photo Remix 9th edition 2020 investigates this primary value, which is less visible, yet essential.

The exhibition will take place at the Plana headquarter in Milano – MM1 MM2 Cadorna

Tortona Rocks

OPIFICIO 31 - The design crossroads

Tortona Rocks presents an offline and online set of contents with Opificio 31 as its top synergic spot and a place of project contaminations.


In partnership with Archiproducts Milano and Phyd, it will be possible to follow talks, seminars and insights which will explore the present historic changes in which design plays a vital role: from reorganizing working spaces to a new idea of urban mobility and much more.

We are Nature and Ro Plastic Prize

Postponed to October 7th

On the occasion of Milano Design City, from September 28th to October 7th, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Fuorisalone, in the picturesque location of the Chiostro del Museo Scienza e Tecnologia di Milano “Leonardo da Vinci”, Rossana Orlandi will deal in an unexpectedly “positive” way with the damages caused by mankind on Nature and affecting our Planet.


We are Nature

For the second edition of her international project RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, the gallery owner gets involved with designers, artists, creators, researchers in a conversation that goes beyond the idea of sustainability.

Here the dialogue consists of works, and projects able to ignite and instill in the public the idea of responsibility. Fundamental Player to safeguard the common future of the Planet for a positive coexistence between Man and Nature.


Ro Plastic Prize

Exhibition of the finalists of the five categories of the second edition of the international prize conceived by Rossana Orlandi with the announcement of the winners.

The Skull Parade

The skull, a leitmotif of classical iconography in many cultures, is one of the most controversial symbols in the esoteric history of mankind.

The craftsmen of the Carnevale di Viareggio, with their creativity, have reinterpreted them as skulls-sculptures, on which they have expressed thoughts, feelings or simple decorative tales, symbolic, surreal, metaphysical, ironical.

“The Skull parade” will be placed along via Marconi, in front of the Museo del Novecento, near the Duomo

Under 35 Re-design Milano

Workshops on September 29th and 30th

Project Workshops for Architects Under35

Ordine degli Architetti di Milano and Fondazione are promoting two design workshops for under35 aimed at finding design solutions that may reorganize public spaces in town, guaranteeing the reopening of activities according to social distancing measures.


The workshops will take place on September 29th and 30th and will be coordinated by Parasite 2.0 and A4A designing studios.

Fuorisalone in miniatura - Miniature Fuorisalone

From September 28th to October 10th

The project is aimed at creating a model of the map of Milano.

Each area/district will personalize its corresponding space with paper silhouettes, representing its activities and characteristics.


The map will be on display at Spirit de Milan for the whole Milano Design City (28/09-10/10/20).

The construction process of this “Fuorisalone in miniatura” will be documented and then promoted via the InBovisa channels.

The Underwood

The undergrowth as the symbolic space between nature and art

In the former drugstore in Via Tortona 19, Weplan presents an installation by Francesca Benedetto and Matilde Cassani on the subject of the undergrowth as a new space that can be lived inside the city.


The installation recreates a fragment of this natural habitat inside the Drogheria di via Tortona.

This intimate, immersive experience, where internal and public space meet, will reveal a new possible relationship between Nature and City, thus helping imagine a possible future for Milano.

Part of these objects will be available for sale. Part of the income will go to the association CAF ONLUS, a help center for minors and families.

Moving forward: discovering TClub

We always give creatives a proper space.

Discover the showroom in downtown Milano (Porta Garibaldi – Piazza XXV Aprile) now become TClub; a space to exchange ideas and find the right one.

The spaces have been updated thanks to the product know-how and the innovative technologies of Tecno, which implemented new office solutions to comply with the recent safety measures

Crocevia – Crossroad

Stories of matter and feeling experimenting

October 1st-4th 2020 in Via Tortona 30 The Torneria Tortona opens its spaces to the installation Crocevia by the designer Sara Ricciardi.


Under the luminous marbles of Matlight and the material tales by Carlo Traviganti, the spaces will evoke an oneiric, digital crossroad, animated by symbols: a rebus of the encounter, where all passers-by will be involved in performative actions, readings and investigations, immersed among light, thoughts, moons, stones and a piano

DDN HUB Milano

The protagonists of design are back in the spotlight in Milano with DDN HUB which, as usual, will take place in Piazza Castello.


A rich calendar of talks and performances will present to the public in full compliance with the current safety measures as well as in a digital form, products, projects, visions, services.

The protagonists are invited to use their own creativity to imagine the city of the future and suggest a genuine lifestyle, both sustainable and smart.


A dialogue between two creative worlds only apparently separated: Art and Design.

The protagonists of this never before seen itinerary are twelve certified artists from the contemporary art world and twelve partner firms as new patrons strengthening their role as innovators in the field of design and interior project.

The link among them will be Andrea Castrignano who is going on with his research in product design.


Artistidentro will organize on October 1st – 2nd -3rd – 4th – 8th – 9th and 10 in Via Dante, in the heart of Milano, a small exhibition of eco-design items.


Our creation unite material recycling and our craftsmanship in the respect of environmental sustainability.

There will be free laboratories for kids between 3 and “99”, named “Ciclofficina colorata ..a ruota libera” a laboratory which is a little magical with a Milanese flair.

DOS2020 Pixel City

DOS is a project deriving from the idea of the designers Emilio Lonardo and Diego Longoni to get public institutions and private subjects to collaborate in order to reopen forgotten spaces, with an urban and social valorization.


DOS2020 goes beyond physical boundaries by introducing AR, widening the idea of diffused district, annulling time and space, in order to bring the world to Milano and Milano to the world. Pixel City is born.

RETHINK! Service Design Stories

The Salone that's not there

A diffused event, wishing to tell about the projects and activities brought about “backstage” during lockdown, with on spot visits to the redisigned urban spaces; introduction talks on the initiatives dedicated to the territory; exhibitions reasoning on the new fruition models in Covid-19 times (from technology to the importance of  sharing and participation projects) and openings of laboratories, ateliers, creative studios, fab-labs.
