What does it mean to play jazz today? The answer is not simple, but every year in Milano JAZZMI offers an infinite series of concerts in order to find an answer. In this edition's programme there is also a large selection of live concerts at the Triennale: an opportunity to discover the state of the art of contemporary jazz but also to discover the new directions of the genre, in search of the "Shape of Jazz to Come” (to say it with the Refused).
An international soundscape ranging from Delvon Lamarr trio’s organ to the Scandinavians Rymden’s electronic taste acrobatics, passing through Belgium with Mélanie De Biasio, up to the closure with the quartet of trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. And if you want African and Latin mingling, trust the sax of London-based Nubya Garcia. Do you miss Italian sounds? Do not worry, Enrico Rava celebrates eighty years at Jazzmi.
