La Scala Theatre curtain reopens with Puccini’s “Tosca”. A show that, in few days, has collected a memorable sold out. In the upcoming months, we will see some other good shows. The Theatre Season 19/20 - which will begin on December 7th and last until next autumn - will include numerous performances: 15 operas, 8 ballets, 8 symphonic concerts and 7 singing recitals, in addition to extraordinary evenings, international hospitality and shows for children.


The following works after the "Tosca" will be: "Romeo and Juliet" (15 January - 16 February), "Il Trovatore" (6 - 29 February), "Il turco in Italia" (22 February - 19 March), "Salome" (8 - 31 March),"Pelleas et Melisande" (4 - 24 April), "Tannhäuser" (23 April - 27 May), "The love of the three kings" (17 May - 10 June), "Fedora" (3 - 30 June), "Un ballo in maschera" (20 June - 16 July), "La Traviata" (11 July - 25 November), "Il viaggio a Reims" (1 - 25 September), "Semele" (17 - 30 October), "Erwartung / Intolleranza 1960" (29 October - 11 November), "La Gioconda" (10 - 29 November). Eleven shows are newly produced and consistently follow the traditional offer of the theatre. Special attention for the shows performed for the first time at La Scala, but the commitment to the international repertoire remains strong, marking the return of the French opera and a Wagnerian title. The Baroque is also at the center of attention.


On the other hand, the ballet conquers the stage as well with a programming path that knows how to enhance Corps De Ballet artistic quality with some already performed choreographies, new creations and debuts. International tours are already planned in order to spread Milano dance all around the world. It will be possible to watch: "Sylvia" (December 17 - January 14), continuing with "Serata van Manen - Petit" (January 24 - February 8), "Madina" (March 22 - April 16), "Romeo and Juliet" (29 April - 15 May), "Show of the Ballet Academy Dance Academy La Scala Présentation - Prometeo" (28 May - 21 June), "Swan Lake" (24 June - 9 July), "La Dame aux camélias" (18 - 30 September), "The Nutcracker", on an original choreography by George Balanchine's (3 - 20 October).


The numerous, other activities of the theater will see the great orchestra director Riccardo Chailly engaged in conducting Beethoven's symphonies. Shows for the little ones are already programmed, such as 29 performances of "Cinderella" for children, directed by Ulrich Peter, that will involve the students of La Scala Academy. In the elegant theatre's setting, the important opera house is ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.
