OPENING NIGHT AT LA SCALA 2021: MACBETH BY GIUSEPPE VERDI

December 7th, 2021

Conductor Riccardo Chailly will inaugurate the La Scala 2021/2022 Opera and Ballet Season with Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth.

This completes Maestro Chailly’s interpretative journey dedicated to the composer's ‘youth trilogy’, following the performances of Giovanna D'Arco (December 7th, 2015) and Attila (December 7th, 2018).

Macbeth is staged under the direction of Davide Livermore, at his fourth inaugural performance, who collaborates with set designer Giò Forma, costume designer Gianluca Falaschi and an excellent cast starring Anna Netrebko in the role of Lady Macbeth, Luca Salsi as Macbeth, Francesco Meli in the role of Macduff and Ildar Abdrazakov as Lord Banquo.
