The 25th edition of the international art fair MIART returns, from September 11th to 13th, 2020, to Pavilion 3 of Fieramilanocity.
The event is the catalyst of the Milano Art Week where modern art, up-and-coming contemporary artists and collectable design come together and revitalise Milano’s cultural DNA: a creative and dynamic platform where, since the early years of the 20th century, tradition has dialogued with experimentation just as innovative design and architecture have cohabited with the artistic avant-garde world.
In support of this vision the 2020 fair will inaugurate a new layout by not differentiating between art galleries, design galleries and decorative arts. 181 galleries from 20 countries will display works of modern masters and contemporary established artists, as well as emerging talents and renowned and experimental designers.
The art fair has a commercial vocation yet also fosters dialogue amongst national and international cultural institutions: over 60 directors and curators of international museums will enhance the ambitious schedule of talks and sit on various panels awarding a wide array of prizes. Other new initiatives for 2020 are the recently-devised Curatorial Advisory Circle, composed of 5 curators for Europe, North America and Africa, and the INNSiDE prize awarded to the gallery which presents the best solo exhibition during the 2020 exhibition with a particular onus on social inclusion, environmental sustainability, global transformations and the new interpretations of the concept of identity.
The Miart programme will be available soon.
