This oriental-flavored exhibition comes straight from the Fondazione Prada in Shanghai, where the Chinese painter's works were perfectly combined with the architecture of the historic 1918 Prada Rhong Zai residence. Here, in Milan, Liu Ye's paintings, suspended by artistic nature between reality and invention, generate a chromatic and material contrast with the concrete walls and industrial architecture of the Foundation, the inspiration and nerve centre of contemporary and international art in Milano. The bright, sensual and intimate canvases tell a pure world as fairytale, which activates a historically dichotomous between Chinese and Western artistic production. Thus the exhibition intensifies the storytelling, bringing two opposite poles of the world closer together. Because, with art, even distances cancel each other out.
