On the occasion of the Fashion Week dedicated to men's fashion, on 11 and 12 January 2020 at BASE, WHITE focuses on sustainability with WSM Fashion Reboot.
It is the first event dedicated to sustainable innovation and fashion design, to bridge the culture of sustainability, the market and the public. The project includes installations, displays, happenings and a full calendar of activities and workshops to involve not only professionals but the whole city. The goal is to become the first event not to be missed, dedicated to the world of fashion circularity and sustainability.
The topics addressed are the relationship between fashion and water, fashion and chemicals, fashion and fossil fuels, fashion and waste management (circular economy).
The Salvatore Ferragamo museum and the Ferragamo Foundation participate in WSM Fashion Reboot, for the first time in Milan, with a section from the Sustainable Thinking exhibition, in a presentation on the ground floor of BASE Milano (former Ansaldo). The display shows some precious Salvatore Ferragamo archive models, which show his innate passion for experimenting with the poorest materials ever used for making shoes: paper, tree bark, raffia, leather of fish, cellophane. Salvatore Ferragamo has often used natural products, aimed at personal well-being.
In addition to this section dedicated to Salvatore Ferragamo's pioneering models, a multimedia and interactive room will offer a genuine full immersion in Sustainable Thinking, thanks to contributions and interviews of numerous characters, who tell their idea of circularity.
From the exhibition curated by the Ferragamo Foundation, we proceed to the first floor of BASE Milano, where a journey begins, offering a broad scenario among textile companies, fashion labels and research designers, companies up to a selection of innovative start-ups.
There are many other proposed activities: WSM Fashion Reboot does not want to be a display of products but above all a manifesto to tell about projects.
