It is evident how Daniel Steegmann Mangrané is devoted to the big and various reign of insects. The catalan artist is coming from Rio De Janeiro to Milano in occasion of his first Italian exhibition. His studio in Brazil is placed inside the pluvial forest in order to observe bio ecosystems. Instead in Milano Mangrané is building a personal set at Pirelli HangarBicocca. The exhibition title - A Leaf-Shaped Animal Draws The Hand - recalls leaf-insects; the site-specific installation, made of white and transparent fabrics, suggests a nice encounter between nature and technology.
All 20 works, included in the exhibition, are art-videos, sculptures, holograms and emplacements. Every item generates dichotomies between concrete and abstract, touchable and imaginary. Along this artistic path Lucia Aspesi and Fiammetta Griccioli want to enlighten unexpected connections between visitors and space. Mangrané seems to be satisfied with result «my best job ever» he said. Save the date - from September the 12th to January 2020, the 19th.
