New films, previews, experimental directors

This 2019 edition of the Filmmaker Festival returns to the City with the aim of presenting new movies, previews, experimental and international directors. The contest this year includes filmmakers like Marie Losier with the feature film Felix in wonderland, a Felix Kubin’s portrait, protagonist of minimal wave electronic music; Lech Kowalski, who brings the documentary On Va Tout Péter, which is a testimony of the French yellow vests pre-boom; Danilo Monte that presents Nel Mondo, a touching movie telling the story of a child's first year, launching an interesting reflection on life.

These are just three of the films programmed, which, beyond the competition, gives space to movies such as Seamus Murphy’s A Dog Called Money, a film-testimony on the realization of PJ Harvey’s the last album (shot among Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington DC); and the commemorative film Varda per Agnès, the story of cinematic Agnès Varda’s life, who died last March 2019.

Great expectations for the opening movie Nomad: In the Footsteps of Bruce Chatwin by Herzog, a feature film about the touching friendship between the German director and the English writer Chatwin. This last project allows the author of “In Patagonia” to express himself at his best once again. The Festival lasts ten days moving from the Arcobaleno Film Center, the Beltrade Cinema and the Film TV Lab
