Milano Fashion district is ready to host his majesty Fashion Week. Let’s think about 170 collections all around the city, and with them 110 fashion launches, 54 events and 58 fashion parades. Spotlights are turned towards Montenapoleone, Spiga, Manzoni and Venezia streets, but actually the whole city feels this heartquake called "Milano Fashion Week". This is one of the coolest moments of the year which brings a breath of internationalization among models coming from all over the world, together with fashion stylists, influencers, journalists and a lot of fashion news. Everything is beautiful: people, dresses, atmospheres - ingredients all able to reach and influence people who are not updated with fashion and do not walk with fashion-forward shoes.

Milano Fashion Week venues

While well-known fashion brands are going to launch new Spring-Summer collections, many cult venues - such as Scalone dell’Arengario, Sala delle Cariatidi at Palazzo Reale, Spazio Cavallerizze at Leonardo Da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology and new spots like Cozzi Swimming Pool - will be set up in order to host many events all around the city.

An inclusive event

This year, all events belonging to Milano Fashion Week are based on the idea of inclusion, in order to put in contact one of Milano biggest symbols with its entire community. Access to events is not by invitation only. Thus San Babila Square is preparing to host a large screen where a thousand people will watch upwards all fashion parades and their stars. The large screen will be placed between the square and the corner with Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Fred Perry has programmed to install a big and interactive mural next to Naviglio Grande, realized by Mate - street artist from Milano based in Berlin. Basically the model Harrison Swann is going to appear on smartphones after framing the QR code on the wall.

Free events

Actually some other events are freely accessible as well. The 21st, from 3 PM until 6 PM, at Piazza XXV Aprile, Milano and its whole community are invited to Upside-Down Show LABO.ART, a Ludovica Dilugu’s fashion parade sponsored by Milano City Hall. Then a nice exhibition through Louis Vuitton creations is unmissable - open everyday from September the 20th for a month, from 10 AM until 8 PM at Piazzetta Reale. This year it is also possible to personally meet some emerging designers at MFC Official Pop-Store (Corso Garibaldi, 46), where some budding brands are presenting their new collections. The iconic Fashion Hub Market (Spazio Cavallerizze placed at Olona Street) is going to collect all new clothes by Apnoea, Carmelina Raco, Caterina Gatta, Delirious, Vanta Design Studio and Woobag - all brands are going to sell their own creations on Sunday, the 22nd.

An eco-friendly fashion system

Since fashion is green too, it is important not to miss the opportunity to buy, wear and to put back in circulation many vintage clothes - thus let’s go to the temporary Pop Up store Vestiaire Collective (Tearose Boutique, Croce Rossa Street), from the 19th until the 23rd, from 11 AM until 7 PM. IED is not going to stay out of this kermesse, that is why the Institute of European Design is programming three days of events and workshops on fashion system sustainability.
