Summer has begun and this means not to be missed concerts in Milano. Capital of music in all seasons, in summer the big names come to play at San Siro or in festivals in different places in the city. Here you will find highlights and concerts divided by genre: choose your favorites and let yourself be carried away by the rhythm of summer in Milano!

HIGHLIGHTS

The great names of Italian and international music at the San Siro stadium and in Milano MIND, the immense space where Expo 2015 took place, are not to be missed.
Jump and dance along with Ed Sheeran (San Siro, 19 June), Muse (San Siro, 12 and 13 July), Laura Pausini e Biagio Antonacci (San Siro, 4 and 5 July) and Florence + The Machine (Milano MIND, 30 August).

POP ROCK

For those who love pop and rock, summer is always the right time to enjoy the lives of the greatest artists in large arenas and festivals.

In Milano this year you can't miss Phil Collins at the Assago Forum on June 17th, Colin Hay dei Men at Work at the Teatro dal Verme on July 10th, Kiss with their last tour after 45 years of activity and success, called "End of the road tour", on July 2nd at the Milano Summer Festival at the Ippodromo di San Siro. In the same place it will also be possible to listen to Ben Harper with his Innocent Criminals on July 17th.
For all the fans, don't miss the concert by Max Weinberg, historic drummer of the Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, who brings his Jukebox on July 19 in the wonderful setting of Castello Sforzesco.

ETHNO

Every year the appointment with the Milano Latin Festival is repeated: every day from June 13th to August 17th concerts, events but also restaurants, street food, disco bars and chiringuitos to fully experience the Latin experience. Among the not to be missed concerts, Daddy Yankee on June 20th.

JAZZ, BLUES AND SWING

For those who love jazz and the whole world that revolves around it, two important events are in programme this summer: Chuco Valdes on July 18th at the Estate Sforzesca at Castello Sforzesco and Woody Allen & The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band at the Arcimboldi Theater on June 28, with a show as always totally improvised, with no programmed lineup but the selection of the pieces will all focus on pieces from the beginning of the century that are inspired by Sidney Bechet, George Lewis, Johnny Dodds, Jimmie Noone and Louis Armstrong.

Don't miss Fabrizio Bosso on June 26th at the Politecnico di Milano with La voglia matta… di jazz.

CLASSICAL AND OPERA

Last in this list, but certainly not less important, comes classical music. Numerous events for the Orchestra Verdi throughout the summer, including the three concerts in August at the Estate Sforzesca.

The Teatro alla Scala does not close for the holidays but continues to offer its superb productions such as I Masnadieri by Giuseppe Verdi until 7 July and Prima la musica e poi le parole / Gianni Schicchi by Salieri and Puccini, from 6 to 19 July, directed by Woody Allen. Here you can find all the info on the Teatro alla Scala programme in July.
