If we say: «Not only prose» - we do not mean “words” are banned, but words - inspired to big classical theatre works - turn into a sort of performance research. After the first launch night with Caterina Barbieri and Francesco Cavaliere, scheduled in Parla Ascolta Guarda Fai calendar, curated by Giannella e Torrigiani, Triennale Milano Theatre officially opens its curtain - showing national and international artists ready to enrich Milano culture offer. And these theatre stars, such as Kinkaleri, Serra, mk, rework classical plays in a contemporary and experimental key. Alessandro Serra’s Macbettu comes back to the stage in front of an audience that loved all encore performances of last year and, in order to complete portrait of the artist, Serra shows his last work The Cherry Orchard - what to expect by a revisited Cechov text?

This classical past - main season focus - brings also back Pina Bausch echoes with Rewind - Omaggio a Cafè Muller by Deflorian/Tagliarini. Afterwards Tristan and Isolde by Seburo Teshogawara treats the medieval well-known work with a nice contemporary choreography based on ecstatic suspension and fast-moving bodies.

Dance is one of theatre season pillars, Premio Hermès Danza Triennale Milano is big news: one night, two plays, best under 35 national dancers; afterwards Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion will exhibit with Any Table Any Room and, to follow, mk is coming with Bermudas. End of season is signed by David August exhibition from Germany, because music opens and closes the year. Not really big news in matter of shows and artists, but finally we all meet in parterre - because Triennale Milano Theatre represents contemporary theatre scene in Milan.
