Parking
In front of the Fontana there is a pedestrian area; along the perimeter of piazza Castello there are 5 parking spaces reserved for people with permits for citizens with disability, it is also possible to park on the blue lines.

Reception
In the Corte Ducale there are:

  • ticket office (counter height 86 cm)
  • bookshop (counter height 90 cm).

Museum professionals are able to give information and hospitality.

The info-point (counter height 86 cm) is sited in the Torre della Filarete, located on the right side of Piazza Castello.

 

Entrance
It is possible to get to the ticket office overcoming a soil (2,5 cm), an inclined ramp (slope 6%) and a double swing door (84 cm each one). The ticket office is linked to the Museo di Arte Antica thanks to an inclined ramp (slope 4%).

 

Lifts
There are two lifts that can be used only by visitors with disability accompanied by staff.
The first lift is sited in the Corte Ducale and it has these features:

  • door 85 cm, cabin 95x135 cm,
  • raised control panel and in Braille,
  • acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.

The second lift is sited in the Corte della Rocchetta and it has these features:

  • door 96 cm, cabin 160x124 cm,
  • acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.

 

Exhibition itinerary
The exhibition itineraries develop in the Corte Ducale (Museo di Arte Antica, Museo Egizio, Museo Preistorico, Pinacoteca and Museo del Mobile) and in the Corte della Rocchetta (Museo del Tesoro, Museo degli Strumenti Musicali, Museo di Arti Decorative).

 

Corte Ducale
The Museo Egizio and the Museo Preistorico (underground floor) are accessible and linked by an inclined ramp (slope 7%) to the temporary exhibitions. People with disability can get to the underground floor with the help of staff, through an external pathway with two consecutive inclined ramps in cobblestones and cement (length about 20 meters each one, maximum slope 18%).
The Museo di Arte Antica (ground floor) presents 3 inclined ramps (2 with slope 10% and the third with slope 8%). From hall 8 there are three steps to access halls 9 and 10.
From the exit of the Museo di Arte Antica it is possible to return to the Corte Ducale using an inclined ramp (length 5 meters, slope 11%). To enter the Pinacoteca (first floor) it is necessary to overcome 6 steps; room 22, 23 and 24 are linked one to each other by isolated steps, room 20 and 21 are linked by 5 steps.

 

Corte della Rocchetta
The Corte Ducale is connected to the Corte della Rocchetta via an inclined ramp (length 15 meters, slope from 4 to 10%). Inside Corte della Rocchetta, along a path of 30 meters with uneven ground, it is possible to reach the lift that, calling the museum staff, allows to get to the Museo degli Strumenti Musicali (1st floor), the Museo di Arti Decorative (2nd floor) and the panoramic hall that hosts the temporary exhibitions (3rd floor).
The Museo delle Arti Decorative (2nd floor) has an inclined ramp (slope 13%), that links the first hall to the others.
It is possible to get to the room 37 on the 1st floor, linked to the 38 by 4 steps, using the lift. Going from room 38 to room 37 it is possible to reach room 34, linked to room 38 by an inclined ramp (slope 20%).
From the second floor, that can be reach by lift, it is possible to get to the room 31 by an inclined ramp (slope 10% and handrail on both sides). The rooms on the second floor are accessible and they are arranged along a circular route, that must be done backward to get the lift.

 

Signage guidance
Inside and outside the castle there are directional arrows written in large letters (at least 7 cm) and well contrasted.

 

Restrooms
There are 3 toilets equipped for people with disability, 2 of these 3 toilets are sited on the ground floor of the Corte Ducale, at the end of the exhibition itinerary of the Museo Egizio and they have these features:

  • dressing with swing door (90 cm) and suspended washbasin (frontal space 125 cm)
  • bathroom with swing door (90 cm)
  • suspended washbasin (frontal space 110 cm)
  • suspended WC (frontal space 125 cm, right side 25 cm, left side 123 cm, vertical grab bar on the right side and horizontal on the left side)
  • symbols of the toilets well contrasted, at eye level, medium to large size.

The third toilet equipped for people with disability is sited under the arch of the Corte della Rocchetta and it has these features:

  • intercom (h 122 cm) to ask for the access
  • swing door (width 90 cm)
  • suspended washbasin (frontal space 148 cm)
  • suspended WC (frontal space 210 cm, right side 40 cm, left side 130 cm, vertical grab bar on the right side and horizontal on the left side)
  • symbols of the toilets well contrasted, at eye level, medium to large size.

Emergency routes are marked. The alarm disposal is visual and acoustic.
