Parking
In via Verdi there are parking spaces reserved for disabled parking permit holders.

Entrance
The museum entrance is located in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (in the immediate vicinity of Piazza della Scala) where a museum operator welcomes visitors. From the entrance, a lift leads to the permanent exhibition.

 

Information for visitors
Free ticket for the companion of the disabled visitor. At the ticket office, you can rent an audio guide available in the following languages: Italian, French, English, German, Spanish and Portuguese, Russian and Chinese.  

 

Reception
In the hall there is:

  • The ticket office - infopoint - bookshop (counter height: 120 cm).

The museum staff is at your disposal for information and tourist reception services.

 

Lift
The lift used to enter the museum has the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm; cabin: inner space 142x130 cm
  • Lift level buttons panel with embossed Braille printing
  • acoustic and visual signal of arrival on the floor.

The lift used to exit the museum has the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm; cabin: inner space 135x140 cm
  • lift level buttons panel with embossed Braille printing at a maximum height of 110 cm
  • acoustic and visual signal of arrival on the floor.

 

Exhibition itinerary
The exhibition itinerary develops on a single floor where it is possible to admire Leonardo's works and machines reconstructed in full size: the mechanical eagle, the fast crossbow, the time machine, the flying screw with the spring motor, the submarine. One room is entirely dedicated to the Last Supper, with the reconstruction of the painting yard in immersive virtual reality.
The itinerary develops in 7 rooms accessible without obstacles. Each single object is equipped with an interactive multimedia station. Multimedia stations are 87 cm from the ground.

 

Restrooms
The accessible toilet equipped for people with disabilities has the following characteristics:

  • toilet with hinged door (90 cm wide)
  • wall-mounted washbasin (clear space in front: 134 cm)
  • floor-standing toilet (clear space: in front 100 cm; on the right side 12 cm; on the left side 43 cm; grab bars on the left side and handrail along the perimeter of the toilet)
  • In the dressing room there is a changing table.

 

Safety exits
Emergency routes are well indicated. The building has an acoustic alarm device.
