Information for visitors
The museum's activities are aimed at children from 1 year to 12 years old. MUBA presents an area that can be used for free where there are three blackboards where children can play, a space dedicated to barter between children and interactive installations.

 

Entrance
The main entrance of MUBA can be reach through the external door (236 cm), which leads into the garden of the Rotonda della Besana. A pathway of approximately 30 meters with gravel surface slightly uneven (path width 150 cm) leads to the museum entrance, that has a short ramp (slope 11%) and two swing manual doors, one next to the other (133 cm).

 

Reception
At the ground floor there are:

  • the ticket office (bancony h 120 cm)
  • a second ticket office (bancony h 86 cm)
  • a wardrobe.

 

Lift
The ground floor and floor -1 are linked by a lift:

  • door 80 cm, cabin 115x174 cm;
  • control panel in Braille and with raised buttons (maximum height 150 cm),
  • acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.

 

Exhibition itinerary
MUBA, Museum of Children of Milan (Museo dei bambini di Milano), opened in 2014, is hosted in the former Church of San Michele, inside Rotonda della Besana. Beside MUBA this space comprehends a garden with gravel paths end and a perimetral porch, that can be reached overcoming 4 consecutive steps.
The space develops on the ground floor and it has a wide area arranged with pews (h 40 cm). The exhibition itinerary continues with the room "Children" and each year it hosts three major exhibitions-game.
Continuing there is the exhibition hall "Remida", the result of an international project, with permanent activity of creative recycling through a guided tour.
At the end of the exhibition there is a large bookshop (bancony h 75 cm), where books and toys are sold.
Inside the museum there is the restaurant Rotonda Bistrot (opening time: day and evening), that can be reached overcoming a double swing door (240 cm). The restaurant (seating for 90) is arranged with square tables with a central leg (free space underneath 74 cm) and it has also an outdoor space in the garden. On request dishes for vegetarians, people with celiac disease and children (4 high chairs for children are available).

 

Restrooms
The toilets are sited downstairs and can be reached by three flights of stairs (15 steps), handrail on both sides.
The toilets equipped for people with disability have:

  • dressing room (door 90 cm)
  • washroom (door 90 cm)
  • washbasin (frontal space 179 cm)
  • WC on the ground (h 50 cm, right-hand space 51 cm, left-hand space 88 cm, grab bars on right side and small shower) and
  • a baby changing table.
