Parking
The theatre is in ZTL area (restricted traffic area. It is possible to park in the garage of piazza Meda; in Largo Raffaele Mattioli (150 m away) there are 2 parking spaces reserved for disabled pass holders. For more information on traffic and where to park, please visit:

Information for visitors
The Teatro alla Scala reserves several seats at special prices for people with a disability of 100%, while the ticket for their companion is free.
Tickets must be reserved only by calling the dedicated line +39 02 88796112.
The entrance has a double-leaf door (width: 130 cm) leading to the “foyer” of the theatre.
Alternatively, people with disabilities can use the entrance of the Museo Teatrale alla Scala, by overcoming an inclined ramp (slope: 5%) and a double leaf door (width: 116 cm).

 

Theatre hall
Once in the stalls foyer, a wide passage leads, after a ramp (length: 15 m, slope: 6%), to the stalls where there are 3 places for wheelchair users and seats for their companions and one seat for a person with reduced mobility and one seat for his/her companion.
Two flights of stairs (16 steps per floor) with handrails take you to the floors where you can find the boxes. Each box has 4,5,6, seats, its entrance is 70 cm wide and has an inclined ramp (slope: 7%).
The balconies are on the top 2 floors: in the first one, there is a box reserved for blind people. For security reasons, during the performance, wheelchair users are not permitted in the boxes or galleries.

 

Lift
To reach the first floor of the two balconies, you must use the lift of the Museo Teatrale alla Scala, which is generally closed to the public. To use it, you must be accompanied by a member of the staff. The lift has the following characteristics:

  • Door width: 85 cm, cabin: 148x140 cm
  • Lift push buttons panel with embossed Braille printing at a maximum height of 129 cm
  • acoustic signal for arrival at the floor.

 

Restrooms
On the ground floor there is an accessible bathroom with the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm
  • Floor standing toilet (clear floor area: in front: 110 cm; on the right side: 55 cm; on the left side: 83 cm), handrails on both sidewall-mounted washbasin (clear floor area in front: 110 cm).

 

Bar service
The theatre has bar services in different areas. The bar service is only available before the beginning of the performance and during breaks. A bar is in the foyer of the stalls, 2 bars are in the “Ridotto” of the “A. Toscanini” boxes (3° level of boxes) and 2 more bars are in the foyer of the second Gallery. The bar of the “Ridotto” has a counter whose height is 115 cm and also has some seats.

 

Emergency exits
Emergency routes are well indicated. There is an acoustic and visual alarm.
