Parking area
It is possible to park freely near the Abbey (compact surface). By the entrance, there are 2 unguarded parking places reserved for disabled parking permit holders.

Entrance
The Mirasole Abbey, founded by the Order of the Humiliates, is built around a courtyard overlooked by the church of Santa Maria Assunta, the fifteenth-century cloister and the agricultural buildings (the latter used today as conference rooms, for concerts and cultural events), a food court and a charity shop.
After a stretch slightly sloping (slope of 5%), the courtyard can be accessed by passing through a wide main entrance (360 cm wide) surmounted by a thirteenth-century tower.

Reception
The infopoint-ticket office (counter height: 76 cm) is located on the right side of the courtyard and can be reached by passing in succession 1 step (9 cm high) and a hinged door (96 cm wide).

Chiesa Santa Maria Assunta
From the entrance of the courtyard, through a gravel path of about 40 m, you reach the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. The entrance has 1 step (8 cm high) and a double leaf door (84 cm wide each).
The church, dating back to the thirteenth century, was rebuilt in its current form and dimensions in the first half of the fifteenth century. It is a single nave church, and on its back wall you can admire a big fresco of the Lombard school depicting the Assumption. The church also has notable paintings from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
The church has pews and chairs (seat height: 46 cm) and can be visited without obstacles. To access the altar and the choir, you need to overcome 1 step (16 cm high).
On the right side of the nave, there is a chapel dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin that can be reached by overcoming 2 steps (13 cm high each).

Cloister and permanent exhibition
The cloister can also be accessed from the farmyard by overcoming a step (4 cm high) and a double leaf door (124 cm wide each). The cloister has a portico characterized by stone arches and columns and one of these columns holds a capital with the emblem of Mirasole. On the cloister overlook the refectory, a meeting room, the chapter house, the prior's hall and the “Sala del Frutteto”, now used for events and permanent and temporary exhibitions.
In the chapter house there is a permanent exhibition on the history of Mirasole. The entrance has 1 step (10 cm high) and a hinged door (89 cm wide). The hall has several panels at different heights (110 cm and 170 cm) that illustrate the story of the abbey from its origins until today; moreover, important sacred objects are exhibited including the relics of San Carlo Borromeo, Sant'Ambrogio, Santa Lucia and Sant'Antonio Abate. In the Sala Frutteto there is a permanent photo exhibition on the Abbey restoration works. When entering the hall you must overcome 1 step and a hinged door (85 cm wide).

Halls and exhibition spaces
The halls used for hosting events differ in dimensions and characteristics. Some halls, like the “Sala Scuderia”, overlook the courtyard on the ground floor; others are inside the cloister and are on the first or second floor. You reach the first floor through two flights of 13 steps (15 cm high each) or using the lift on the right side of the courtyard, in the co-housing space (the entrance has a 2 cm threshold and a 90 cm wide hinged door). From the lift, to reach the first floor, you must overcome 6 steps going down (9 cm high each). On the first floor there are 4 rooms with a hinged door (86 cm wide).
In the church, in the cloister and in the exhibition rooms there are information panels at different heights (110 cm and 170 cm).

Lift
The lift connecting the two floors of the building has the following characteristics:

  • door width: 90 cm;  cabin: inner space 153x136 cm
  • Elevator push buttons panel with embossed Braille printing at a maximum height of 110 cm
  • emergency bell at a maximum height of 127 cm.

Orientation signage
In the different external and internal spaces (except for the interior of the church) there are directional arrows with large lettering (at least 7 cm) and well contrasted.

Toilet facilities
In the architectural complex there are several toilet facilities  There are two accessible toilets for people with disabilities.
The first one, located in the farmyard to the left of the Bottega Solidale, can be reached by a ramp (length: 100 cm, slope of 7%) and has the following characteristics:

  • dressing room with hinged door (91 cm wide)
  • toilet with hinged door (86 cm wide)
  • washbasin: clear space in front 140 cm
  • wall-mounted toilet (clear space: in front 124 cm; on the right side 134 cm; on the left side 29 cm).
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

The second one is located in the farmyard inside the "stall" room, opposite the Bottega Solidale, and has the following characteristics:

  • dressing room with hinged door (90 cm wide)
  • toilet with hinged door (90 cm wide)
  • washbasin: clear space in front 130 cm
  • floor standing toilet (clear floor space: in front 200 cm, on the right side 32 cm, on the left side 115 cm)
  • high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

Bottega Solidale
The shop, near the ticket office, sells products of the monastery and other supplies from other monasteries and co-operatives. The shop is accessible and its entrance has a hinged door (100 cm wide)

Food court
From the Bottega Solidale you can access the Food court by overcoming 2 consecutive hinged doors (82 cm wide). The room has rectangular 4-legged tables (clear space below: 76 cm).

Safety exits:
Emergency routes are well indicated. The building has an acoustic alarm device.
