Parking
The Acquario Civico is inside Parco Sempione. About 100 metres away, on the other side of the road, there is a parking place reserved for disabled parking permit holders. For more information on traffic and where to park, please visit:

Information for visitors
No entrance fee for the person with disability and for his companion. A manual wheelchair is available for visitors.

Entrance
The main entrance is reached by a wide gate (145 cm) and on both sides there are two ramps with landings (gradient 7% and 8%) and a double leaf door (130 cm).

Reception
In the entrance hall, which is quite large, you can find:

• an information desk
• the ticket counter (counter height 81cm)
• a teaching workshop.

Lift
The civic aquarium is on three floors, linked by two staircases or a lift connecting the basement to the first floor that has the following characteristics:

• door width: 90 cm, cabin 143 x 150 cm
• control panel in Braille and raised
• acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.

Exhibition itinerary
The Acquario Civico of Milan was established in 1906 as part of the Milan International Exhibition and is housed in a fine liberty building. The external facade of the building is decorated with fish and marine objects with friezes and majolica.
The different aquarium environments show the biodiversity of the aquatic environments, in an ideal path that starts from mountain environments to lake ones, up to the sea. The exhibition itinerary can start from the ground floor. To access the tanks, starting from the ticket office, you need to overcome an inclined ramp (113 cm long) with a slope of 3%.This 200 meters circular path, on a flat course, hosts tanks containing the flora and the fauna of the different environments and water paths (lake, stream, river, sea) and each tank has explanatory captions placed on vertical panels. To reach the external exhibition, it is necessary to overcome 5 consecutive steps (h. 17 cm).
Alternatively, there is an inclined ramp (slope of 15%) followed by a gravel path. The outdoor area has a paved path (minimum width: 102 cm), with natural pools that reproduce the flora and fauna of freshwater ponds. On the first floor there is the "Vitman" conference room, with hinged door (122 cm wide). The room has 100 seats, a library and an exhibition space called The Winter Garden used for events and meetings and can be reached by overcoming two inclined ramps (slope of 7% - 9%) and a hinged door (94 cm wide). The exhibition space is large and has round tables with a central leg (free space below: h. 73 cm). In the basement there is a large room used for temporary exhibitions with some seats and two non-accessible toilets.

Restrooms
The restrooms equipped for persons with disabilities are on the ground floor and the first floor.
The restroom on the ground floor is reached from the ticket office, by a flat corridor of 20 metres and it has the following features:

• a hinged door (90 cm)
• a suspended washbasin (space in front: 144 cm)
• a floor-standing toilet (space: in front 135 cm; on the right side 127 cm, on the left side: 24 cm; toilet with grab handle on the right and bidet spray on the left).

The restroom on the first floor has the following characteristics:

• a dressing room with hinged door (90 cm wide),
• toilet door width: 90 cm
• a suspended washbasin (space in front: 116 cm),
• a floor-standing toilet (space: in front 120 cm, on the right side: 116 cm, on the left side: 21 cm; horizontal grab handle on the right).
