Parking
Cars can be parked on the blue lines along the road and in the nearby streets.
There are 2 parking places for disabled parking permit holders in Largo delle Culture, 100 m away from the museum.

Entrance
The entrance has two double-leaf doors, arranged side by side (each 74 cm wide).

 

Reception
The entrance hall contains:

  • the information desk (counter height 85 cm)
  • the ticket office (counter height 85 cm)
  • a cloakroom (counter height 85 cm)
  • a bookshop (counter height 100 cm).

The museum staff provide information and assistance.

 

Lifts
Four lifts opposite the ticket office link the ground, first, second and third floors.

Three of them have the following specifications:

  • door width 90 cm, cabin 162x134 cm
  • internal touch screen panel at a maximum height of 92 cm
  • acoustic and visual floor signals on arrival
  • emergency alarm bell at a maximum height of 95 cm.

One lift has the following specifications:
 

  • door width: 90 cm, cabin 210x114 cm
  • internal touch screen panel at a maximum height of 92 cm
  • acoustic and visual floor signals on arrival
  • emergency alarm bell at a maximum height of 95 cm.

 

Exhibition layout
The museum is arranged over a three level opening, with two naves off to the sides. The black painted ceilings contrast with the grey concrete floors and the steel structures of the attic areas and all the electrical, heating and lighting systems are on view. The central stairway connects the four floors and highlights the imposing size of the building.
All 4 exhibition floors (0, 1, 2 and 3) are accessible.
The ground floor hosts temporary exhibitions of photos, architecture and design. The exhibition area is wide and accessible.
The second and third floors house a selection of the creations by Giorgio Armani from 1980 to the present time.
On the third floor, it is possible to visit the digital archive, where the design stages of the models can be reconstructed to see the creative process in the making.  Access to the archive is free (reservation is recommended).
There are 8 stations with monitors (maximum height: 82 cm) and 10 touch screen tables (maximum height: 85 cm) with videos in Italian and English of the collections on display. In the projection area (passageway 130 cm wide), films of the fashion parades are presented (some of them have audio in Italian with subtitles in Italian and English, some with only a musical soundtrack and no words). There are around 40 chairs in the hall (seat height: 48 cm).  A background music accompanies the visit.

 

Direction signs
In the building there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm) for the visually impaired.

 

Toilet facilities
There are three disabled toilet facilities.
The first, on the ground floor opposite the ticket office, has the following characteristics:

  • hinged door (87 cm wide)
  • suspended washbasin (space in front 140 cm)
  • suspended toilet (clear floor area: in front 180 cm, to the right 23 cm, to the left 120 cm, horizontal handle to the left, WC shower to the right).

The second toilet is on the third floor and has the following characteristics:

  • sliding door: 90 cm wide
  • suspended washbasin (space in front 165 cm)
  • suspended toilet (clear floor area: in front 230 cm, to the right 120 cm, to the left 49 cm, horizontal handle to the right, WC shower to the left).

The third toilet is on the ground floor, in the Luce Cafe. It has the following characteristics:

  • dressing room with hinged door (92 cm wide)
  • suspended washbasin (space in front 200 cm)
  • toilet with sliding door (88 cm wide)
  • suspended washbasin (space in front 152 cm)
  • suspended toilet (clear floor area: in front 105 cm, to the right 30 cm, to the left 200 cm, horizontal handle to the left).

Toilet facilities are indicated with high contrast symbols (at least 7 cm), positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters

 

Cafeteria
The Cafeteria is on the ground floor, in front of the ticket office. It is spacious (40 covers) and furnished with square, four-legged tables (clear space below 66 cm). A hinged door (125 cm wide) leads to the outside area (40 covers), furnished with square, four-legged tables (clear space below 67 cm).
Vegetarian and vegan menus are available.

 

Emergency exits
Emergency routes are well indicated. The alarm device is  visual and acoustic.
