Parking
About 20 m away from the entrance, there are 3 parking spaces reserved for disabled parking permit holders. It is possible to park on the blue lines along via Conservatorio and in the adjacent streets. For more information on traffic and where to park, please visit:

Entrance
The entrance to the cloister has one step (4 cm), a hinged door (180 cm) and two turnstiles (one to enter and the other to go out). The centre of the cloister is made of cobbled paving and the portico has a stone floor.

 

Reception
The box office is on the left of the cloister (counter height 88 cm). The conservatoire organizes guided tours by appointment.

 

Music rooms
The building is on two floors, linked by a lift or by four flights of stairs (9 steps each, each step is 16 cm high) with handrail on both sides.
On the ground floor there are two music rooms (Sala Verdi and Sala Puccini), an exhibition hall (Sala Toscanini), the library and a cafeteria.
In the Sala Verdi (1420 seats), whose acoustics is considered as one of the best in Europe, take place the most important Milanese concert seasons. The entrance has two hinged doors (145 cm and 156 cm wide). Places for wheelchair users are on the sides of the row seats.
The Sala Puccini (450 seats) is used for chamber music concerts and for orchestra lessons and orchestra practices. Its entrance has a double leaf door (147 cm wide) and has 12 spaces reserved for persons with disabilities on either side of the room.

The Sala Toscanini exhibition hall is wide and has 4 showcases (35 cm above the ground) with clothing and personal belongings of the famous musician. It is just after the Conservatoire's cafeteria.

The library has a cultural musical heritage that the Conservatoire has contributed to increase. Here it is possible to consult manuscripts, books and music magazines.

To access the library you must overcome a double leaf door (70 cm each); the library counter is 115 cm high. The library has several four legged tables and seats (seat height: 46 cm).

 

Lift
The building has a lift linking all floors; it is near the library and has the following characteristics:

  • Door width: 90 cm, cabin: 150x140 cm
  • Lift push buttons panel with embossed Braille printing at a maximum height of 130 cm
  • visual signal of arrival on the floor.
  • To use the lift, you need to ask for the key to the concierge.

 

Exhibition area
On the first floor there is the Museo Verdi with a permanent exhibition of musical instruments, documents (display cabinets height: 95 cm) and pianos.

 

Restrooms
There are 2 restrooms available for visitors.

The first accessible toilet has the following features:

  • Toilet door: 88 cm wide
  • suspended washbasin (clear space in front: 75 cm)
  • suspended toilet (seat height: 52 cm; clear space: in front: 122 cm, on the right side: 30 cm; on the left side: 114 cm; horizontal grab bar on the right).

The second accessible toilet is in the Library and has the following characteristics:

  • dressing room door: 90 cm wide
  • toilet door: 90 cm wide
  • suspended washbasin (clear space in front: 142 cm)
  • floor standing toilet (seat height: 50 cm; clear space: in front: 121 cm, on the right side: 98 cm; on the left side: 52 cm; horizontal grab bar on the right).

 

Cafeteria
The Cafeteria (counter height 115 cm) is located in a room furnished with square tables with a central leg (clear space underneath: 73 cm).
