With the opening of fall season, industry exhibitions and scientific congresses return to Milano en masse. Here is a curated list of the most important fairs that will happen in late September and October in the city’s fairgrounds and conference centers.
On September 24 and 25, Bocconi University hosts the second edition of Agevity, the annual event focusing on the silver economy and the longevity supply chain that cater to the needs of Senior Citizens. Agevity brings together public institutions, private companies and innovative outfits, promoting alliances and projects between firms operating in the Silver Economy. Milano and Lombardy confirm themselves as centers of international excellence for health, wellness and personal care, thanks to the contribution of startups, companies, universities and research centers that are redefining the future of what it means to be old in a fast-changing society, by helping people age gracefully and live longer.
The European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV), held biannually, is the most important international conference for scientific researchers working on Computer Vision and Machine Learning applied to Artificial Intelligence. More than 3,500 delegates from Europe, Asia and America are expected to bring their nous to the conference halls of the Allianz MiCo convention center (M5 Portello) from Sunday September 29 to Friday October 4, 2024.
At ECCV, arcane knowledge becomes mundane innovation: typically, poster sessions have deliciously cryptical and brainy titles such as Differentiable Convex Polyhedra Optimization from Multi-View Images or City Gaussian: Real-time High-Quality Large-Scale Rendering with Gaussians. Proceedings to be published by Springer.
From October 8 to October 14, Milano will be the capital of the space economy, by hosting the 175th International Astronautical Congress at the MiCo Allianz convention center (M5 Portello) managed by Fieramilano Congressi. This year’s edition, titled “Responsible Space for Sustainability”, is set to be the largest event ever covering issues in space exploration, featuring more than 150 international exhibitors and 4,000 speakers from 96 countries.
The IAC 2024 Program consists of Plenaries, Highlights Lectures, Technical Sessions, Special Sessions, Interactive Presentations, Networking Events with over 10,000 delegates discussing safety and sustainability of orbiting satellites, the sustainable exploration of Moon and Mars, climate observations of the Earth, AI and robotics in space, and where no humans have gone before in their quest for the stars.
Samantha Cristoforetti personally endorses the event, while the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Leonardo defense industries are the main sponsors.
Milano is particularly proud to have attracted CPHI, the world’s most important event of the pharma industry, to Rho Fieramilano (M1 Rho-Fieramilano). From October 8 to October 10, over 62,000 delegates and 2,400 companies from all the countries of the planet are expected to attend this annual exhibition that attracts legions of experienced professionals and up and coming researchers working in the pharmaceutical and medical sectors.
It is a mega event with several highlights, including the special sessions with over 150 expert speakers exploring market trends in biotech and biomanufacturing (Next-Gen Bio and Manufacturing 5.0), genomics and vaccination, new ingredients & packaging, decarbonization of the industry, and other key aspects for the future of medicine and pharma.
Mentorship programs enhance the networking opportunities of this truly global get-together. And when the day unwinds, there is the CPHI Happy Hour with entertainment, games, DJs and fun surprises.
This is the 35th annual edition of CPHI and networking events and award ceremonies have been fused into one single and memorable social event to celebrate the corporate and scientific leaders driving innovation in drug manufacturing and delivery: CPHI Celebration, CPHI has recently released a Sustainability Report on the prospects for a greener orientation in the pharmaceutical industry.
On October 8 and 9, Milano will be the home of fintech and digital innovation in finance. Around 1,500 fintech entrepreneurs and executives will convene for two days at the MiCo convention center (M5 Portello). “Smells like Fintech spirit” is the claim of Milan Fintech Summit 2024, since music is the inspirational theme of this year’s edition: every session is titled after the lyrics of a pop song, and every speaker and delegate will be asked to contribute a song to the Milan Fintech Summit Playlist, which is bound to be grandiose and widely shared.
This year’s summit intends to stoke the animal spirits of fintech companies and taunt them to be even braver and more innovative. Digital banks, embedded finance, financial inclusion, AI and LLM in digital investment and cryptocurrency markets are some of the hot topics that will be addressed in keynote speeches and pitch sessions. Supported by Mastercard and Fabrick, this is the fifth annual rendezvous with Italy’s Fintech industry, partnering for the occasion with equivalent organizations in Belgium, Poland, Latvia, Malta and Bulgaria.
From Thursday October 24 to Saturday October 26, the Congress of the European Association for Osseointegration will bring 4,000 medical professionals to Milano to discuss the latest developments in implant dentistry.
Held at the Alllianz MiCo convention center and organized jointly with the Italian Academy for Osseointegration (IAO) and the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP), this year’s Congress offers a variety of dedicated networking events, including exclusive gatherings for EAO, IAO, and SIdP members. From a first-time attendees lunch to evening parties and exclusive member events, there are ample opportunities to engage with colleagues and industry leaders from all over the Continent working in tooth care and dental reconstruction.
Milano will become a hub for European private market investors with the upcoming 0100 Conference Mediterranean, held from October 28-30.
This event will bring together over 400 fund investors (limited partners) and fund managers (general partners) from the private equity and venture capital industry across Europe, North America, and the rest of the world.
The conference is the result of a partnership with Zero One Hundred Conferences, an international networking enabler for the most relevant players in the private equity and venture capital ecosystem, with over 50 conferences in their track record and more than 13,000 of the most selected attendees from around the globe.
