TOURISM. THE CONVENTION OF THE LGBTQ + SECTOR OPERATORS

Standup comedy show, football tournament, an athletic race, scheduled from Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 October

An evening of short movies and standup comedy. A football tournament. An athletic race. And convivial and entertaining moments. Milano is gearing up to accompany the 38th IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association) Global Convention with social and cultural events in the city, all united by the theme of inclusion.

  • ECOMIX ARCOBALENO - 26 October, 8:45 pm, EcoTeatro (Via Fezzan 11)

Actor Lorenzo Balducci will stage an excerpt from "Allegro, non molto!", A stand up comedy show that alternates music, hilarious jokes and moments of more intimate and serious reflection. The evening is completed by a review of three Lgbtq + themed short films, curated by MiX Festival of LGBTQ+ Cinema and Queer Culture.

  • MILANO PRESENTS INCLUSIVE FOOTBALL - 29 October, from 7:30 pm, at the Dindelli Sports Center (Via Treviglio 6)

The Polisportiva Open Milano ASD, guest of Minerva Calcio SSD at the Dindelli Sports Center, will organize an inclusive, open and social 3-way football tournament. The team, Open Milano Calcio, with a long LGBTQIA+ history and great attention to gender and social inclusion issues, will enter the soccer field together with Athletic Brighela, AC Macallesi and YouSport with the support of UISP Milano referees.

  • BEYOND GENDER - October 29, from midnight, at Qclub (via Padova) and October 30, from 6:30 pm, at the Isola Municipal Market (Piazzale Lagosta, M3 Zara)

Beyond the Magazine is a periodical awarded for its commitment to the themes of inclusivity and non-discrimination. It will distribute the special Beyond Gender digital yearbook free of charge during two evenings devoted to LGBTQ+ fun promoted by the same magazine, with animations, DJ sets and shows, including a performance by Miss Kiki Minou. The appointment on October 30 will take place as part of the "Queer Food Village", the event held every Sunday evening at the Piazzale Lagosta Covered Market.

The RAINBOW DISTRICT, which responded to the AITGL call to action, will dominate collateral initiatives. On 28 October, starting in the late afternoon, 11 venues in the Porta Venezia district displaying the Convention’s logo will provide special discount for delegates.

The theme of inclusion, declined in all its implications, is also at the center of the RUN FOR INCLUSION initiative, the non-competitive race to be held on Sunday 30 October, with departure (9.30am) and arrival at the Arco della Pace: a path of 7.24 km that will touch some symbolic places of the city to underline Milano’s 24/7 commitment to fight all forms of discrimination. The purpose of the initiative - which kicks off on Saturday 29 October with talks and debates - is to share the importance of the values of diversity, hospitality, sustainability and underscore the uniqueness of individuals, also through sports.
