It’s all go in April in Milano! Starting off with the city marathon and finishing up with the art and design weeks. 

 

Sunday, April 2nd is the much-anticipated date for the Milano Marathon, now in its 21st edition. As always, it will represent a great celebration for the running community, which now counts Milano as one of its capitals.

 

No sooner than you’ve crossed the Milano Marathon finishing line it will be time to get ready for Art Week. From April 11th, Milano becomes the hub for visual culture and modern & contemporary art, thanks to a packed schedule of exhibitions, installations, performances and special initiatives.

 

In the middle part of the month, Milano’s Design extravaganza raises its game with its renowned Design Week from 17th to 23rd, and the Salone del Mobile from 18th to 23rd at Rho Fiera.

Milano Marathon

Sunday April 2nd

Whether you’re a mad keen runner or an enthusiastic amateur, April 2nd is the day for you! A chance to aim for your personal best right here in Milano, in a contemporary setting on a par with the other top European marathons. 

 

Departure and finish line are in the centre of Milano, in the Giardini Montanelli. This circular route will enable you to enjoy some of the most beautiful views and historic buildings of the city.

Milano Art Week, the major art festival arrives in the city

Milano Art Week is the keyword that opens the doors to museums, art galleries and private foundations.

 

From April 11th to 16th, Milano will be the creative backdrop to an incomparable city-wide art event with exhibitions, initiatives, performances, inaugurations and free, or reduced entry, openings to enjoy art in all its forms.

 

 

Miart 2023 makes CityLife the capital of contemporary art

From April 14th to 16th at Fieramilanocity

Miart 2023, the international modern and contemporary art fair in Milano, is back with its 27th edition which, this year, invades pavilion 3 of the Allianz MiCo congress centre in the heart of Fieramilanocity.

 

For this edition, the fair focuses on its ‘crescendo’ since the end of the pandemic, which sees the participation of many young and upcoming artists, together with veterans of the art world.

Milano Design Week, timeless design and modern innovation

From April 17th to 23rd

Are you ready to experience the city of design’s rollercoaster week?

From April 17th to 23rd, Milano Design Week 2023 moves into full-on mode to embrace all of Milano and to totally amaze us.

 

In addition to the well-established design areas - Statale, Durini, Brera, Tortona, 5 Vie, Isola - and the historic buildings that have been the mainstay venues for many years, new design spaces are emerging for this edition. From the area around the Monumental Cemetery to Porta Venezia, the former slaughterhouse in Porta Vittoria and the floating walkway over the Darsena, without forgetting the previously disused spaces now undergoing redevelopment such as the former Marchiondi Spagliardi prison in Baggio.

Salone del Mobile.Milano, the design promenade at Rho Fiera

From April 18th to 23rd

The Salone del Mobile.Milano is back - from April 18th to 23rd - with a streamlined single-level exhibition format redesigned to evoke a stroll through a traditional historic Italian centre.

 

This is also the biennial edition of Euroluce, reimagined and reorganized to illuminate the fair with an experiential itinerary of lights in 4 pavilions.

 

At the centre of it all is the large immersive light installation Aurore, a plaza/arena which hosts themed conferences, and offers visitors a chance to rest and reflect.

 

The Salone’s vast programme of events also gives space to art, architecture and photography: check out all the initiatives.
