Every summer, the streets of Milan are tinged with the colours of Pride, a festival of freedom, inclusivity, civil rights and self-determination.

Milano Pride is a celebration of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, asexual, intersex, and queer pride: an extraordinary celebration of freedom made possible by the combined work of public associations and the city administration, as well as forward-looking companies, promoting the participation of thousands of people every year.

On the occasion of Pride month, some piazzas in Milano will come alive with an extensive program of events that celebrate LGBTQ+ culture through art, dance, cinema and theatre. Meetings will be held in the Pride Squares in Porta Venezia (from June 26th to 28th), sports at Arco della Pace (June 22nd and 23rd), and The District of Joy, a brand new festival in Porta Romana (from June 24th to 30th). The festivities will culminate with the famous Pride Parade through the city (on June 29th). Join the party 🌈

Porta Romana: The District of Joy

This year, the colours of the rainbow will take over Porta Romana which, thanks to Serravalle Designer Outlet, becomes ‘The District of Joy’ with an extensive schedule of events. From June 24th to 30th, meetings, dance performances, yoga sessions, concerts and shows that are free and open to the public will take place around Parco Ravizza. On June 26th, none other than Loredana Bertè will take the stage alongside Mydrama, Isa Diamond (Linoleum DJ Set), Santa Manu (DJ Set), Milano Cantautori, and Guernika. La B. Fujiko will curate a dance performance and the event will be hosted by stand-up comedian Daniele Gattano.

Porta Venezia and the Pride squares

No matter the season, Porta Venezia waves the rainbow flag at its metro stop all year round. So it’s no coincidence that its piazzas - Santa Francesca Romana, Lavater and Bellintani - will become Pride Squares in which, from June 26th to 28th, talks, medical centres, debates and artistic events will take place.

Pride Month will wrap up with "Sempre liber3", an evening dedicated to queer art on June 30th at 20:30 at Teatro Elfo Puccini.

Sports at Arco della Pace

The piazza in front of Arco della Pace will be transformed into a multi-sport arena by Pride Sport Milano where visitors can meet the city’s LGBTQ+ sports teams as well as their Italian allies, federations and sports personalities. It is a mini-festival of inclusive sports that will take place on the weekend of June 22nd and 23rd. It will include mini football tournaments, basketball games, volleyball and Quidditch matches, running routes as well as DJ sets and shows.

The Parade & final event

The sports event precedes the arrival of the Parade, scheduled for the following weekend on June 29th. As per tradition, the meeting point is at 15:00 in Via Vittor Pisani, in front of the Milan’s Central Station.

The procession will start from Piazza Repubblica at 16:00 and continue along Via della Liberazione before connecting to Via Melchiorre Gioia and Piazza XXV Aprile. From there, continuing towards the Bastioni di Porta Volta, down Viale Elvezia and arriving in front of the Arena before strutting on down Viale Byron, Viale Melzi d'Eril, Corso Sempione and concluding at Arco della Pace, where the grand final event will be held.

The stage will host many guests and musicians for a great celebration of freedom, open to all. This year's featured artists are Orietta Berti, La Cesira, Clara, Daniele Gattano, Michele Bravi, Gianmaria, Karma B, N.A.I.P., Debora Villa, Ditonellapiaga, Ricchi e Poveri, BigMama, Beatrice Quinta, Sethu, Gaia, Chadia and Francesca Michielin. The event will be hosted by Marta Pizzigallo, Edoardo Zaggia, Francesco Cicconetti, Kaze and Fabrizio Colica.
