Milano Loves You: it is with this byline that the city is working to proudly welcome the annual meeting of IGLTA, the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association. From 26 to 29 October, the most important world convention devoted to LGBTQIA+ tourism, now in its 38th edition, will take place in the conference rooms of UNAHOTELS Expo Fiera Milano. IGLTA will also take part in press and educational tours organized all around the city.

More than 500 delegates will convene in Milano, representing tourist organizations, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hotels and cruise lines that are part of IGLTA, an association founded in 1983 which today has 50,000 members in more than 80 countries. It will be a return to in-presence meetings after two year, discussing how to re-imagine and design the new travel routes for an ever more inclusive international tourism.

For the city of Milano, social inclusion and the fight against homophobia and gender discrimination are fundamental priorities. As a tourist destination, it offers prime accommodation in a context of tolerance and equity, which is supported by the city’s values as well as the laws of the country. Milano aims to be an internationally recognized model of inclusiveness.

Numerous LGBTQIA+ associations are active in the Milano area, beautiful Porta Venezia is a rainbow neighborhood, and the Milano Pride is one of the most attended in Italy, with a great parade, a film festival and plenty of events in neighborhood squares all across the city. It is for these reasons that Milano is considered the most LGBTQ-friendly Italy, as it will have the occasion to show during the four days of the IGLTA convention, working with professional and urban communities to make every moment in Milano memorable for the delegates coming here.

IGLTA is not just a great event for professionals, but an opportunity for visibility, investment and promotion of LGBTQ+ tourism. For all information on the convention: www.igltaconvention.org
