8 "Milanese" women to celebrate the girls' power

Here you can find 8 profiles of as many women who have marked the Milanese history: their biographies are so intertwined with that of the city, that it could be said that the success of each cannot be separated from that of Milano.

 

The youngest is Matilde Gioli, face of Milano City Council’s campaign for Women's Day.  She is an actress and made her debut with the film "Il capitale umano" by Virzì, set between the hinterland and the city.

 

Then there are some icons that have revolutionized the fashion system with their work: the great entrepreneur Miuccia Prada and the fashion journalist Franca Sozzani, historical director of Vogue.

 

 

Milano has inspired refined authors, such as the writer and translator Fernanda Pivano and the poets Antonia Pozzi and Alda Merini; to stay in the arts, the beautiful singing and Teatro alla Scala have shown the world the timeless talent of Maria Callas. Finally the theatre, which found its muse in Franca Rame, in particular in the partnership of life and art with the Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo.
