Milano’s architecture beckons you to explore its rich history and opulent artheritage. As you wander through the city’s districts you’ll be transported to a bygone era, where the elegance and affluence Milano’s richest families come to life. Our curated itinerary, inspired by the book “Milan 360°. A metropolis to discover, among art, culture, technology, and fashion”, promises a captivating journey among architectural treasures and unusual private museums.

Museo Poldi Pezzoli: where art and elegance meet

Our first stop takes us to Museo Poldi Pezzoli, once the residence of a discerning art collector. Today, it stands as one of Europe’s finest house museums, boasting an unparalleled collection of Renaissance paintings and decorative art pieces. As you wander through its manicured galleries, you’ll be surrounded by the timeless beauty of art and elegance.

The museum is open every day except Tuesdays from 10:00 to 18:00.

Museo Branca: a toast to an international tradition

Our itinerary continues with a visit to Museo Branca, which showcases objects, ingredients, painting and photos of the Verne-like story of the Fratelli Branca Distillery.
In the adjacent industrial mill, the Fernet-Branca liquor (made with herbs from the five continents and sold all over the world) has been in continuous production since 1845.

Guided tours are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 15:00 and on Thursdays at 10:00 and at 19:00.

The museum is set at the edge of Dergano, a hip neighborhood replete with cozy bars, small shops and cultural cafés, with public art murals and urban regeneration projects amid an old Milano atmosphere.

Bagatti Valsecchi Museum

Our next destination, Museo Bagatti Valsecchi embodies the legacy of two barons, Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi, who devoted their whole lives to collecting and restoring Renaissance art, hosting paintings, artifacts, and furnishings in their neo-Renaissance home that perfectly matched the items they collected. The museum showcases their remarkable private collection, allowing visitors to step into the Renaissance and immerse themselves in the elegance and refinement ofaristocratic Milano as it must have been in the 1500s.

For more modern styles, the Fashion District is where you are and Via Montepoleone is nearby.

The museum is open on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 20:00, on Thursdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 17:45, and on Weekends from 10:00 to 17:45.
